A date change this year and not chip timed anymore..

They let the walkers out at the same time as the runners so when you're finishing your 10k and you're on the home straight you have to dodge people walking 5 abreast who are finishing their first lap.. an easy thing to fix

Great cause, I've ran the last 3 but not this year because of the date

Applied to do it earlier this year. They had a presale for people who did it before. It was still expensive enough for 5km but we figured it was for a worthy cause.
However since then we have learned that it is not chip timed and after we registered for it they added the option of getting the race number and tshirt posted out. This would have been really handy for us as we are not from Dublin and will now have to arrive in Dublin even earlier to get a tshirt before they are all gone for the 10km which starts earlier. I can't remember if you had to pay extra for the tshirt last year or if they didn't have any left - I just remember a few members of our group not getting tshirts and wanting to get one this year.

On the plus side the medal looks pretty decent this year.

They are starting the 10km at 10am and the 5km at 11am. Therefore many of the 10km participants will be finished by the time the 5km crowd catch up with them.

Took part in this too. It was a lovely morning for it and a decent sized crowd. Did it last year and the previous year seemed to have a much bigger crowd, a lot more in fancy dress and more of an atmosphere.
This year's medal was fab through and made up for the run not being chipped timed.
Edit: And to add it was indeed for a great cause
