Everyone should have rain gear on their packing lists anyway, both for inside the tent and out.

Agreed, I like to have it and leave it in the car though, less to carry, sitting in a Friday morning whist it pisses down isn't a great way to start the weekend.

oh wellys and wetgear will be packed as always , be heartbreaking after the summer we have had if its a washout... listen its all luck with the weather we jus have to hope its on our side next weekend :) either way wer irish wel get thru it... anymore ideas for whos playing the electric arena friday evening? or who the mainstage acts are before kendrick lemar?.... most of the crowds will be in the 2fm story of rap tent and then off to see lemar, so il be off elsewhere..

Yeah, that EP banter page is literally just people looking for tickets :pac:

Zero banter there.... I'm laughing at the c.unts trying to tout on campervan tickets.. it's shameful.

But the thing is, not everyone has access to a camper/caravan so the possibilities for impulse buying especially at this late stage are a lot less.. theyll end up stuck with the tickets!!

wouldnt fret yet we were meant to get horrific wind and rain last saturday and it was 20 degrees and sunny.. all they can really tell a few days off is whether its gonna be a heatwave or temperature to drop majorly other than that its really hit or miss i wouldnt trust anything till the wednesday or thursday...

Thinking now about my footwear choices. Two years ago it was woefully wet but my hiking shoes did me well, even if I did get them destroyed. I had wellies too but they were a disaster in terms of comfort! What are everyone else's choice?

Walking boots for me too... Need a wash when I get home but never too bad.. Can't do wellies.. Kill my feet..

Too early to hedge bets on weather reports. I just glanced at a few and one says rain Friday, the other says bone dry.

Regardless of the forecast, bring rain gear and sun block!

The torrential downpour Saturday night was a total dose last year but was kind enough to wait until after ATCQ. Sunday was luckily hot as hell to make a nice ending to the weekend.

Drizzle is fine. Sure its Ireland, comes with the territory.

Light weight hiking booties by default but I'll have a pair of hiking shoes too in case the weather is actually super nice (usually bring them but don't think i've ever actually switched to them).

If you're only getting round to thinking of footwear now and are thinking of buying booties, then you've got to do it this weekend and spend a couple of hours in them (and rack up a lot of walking), breaking in shoes at the event itself is a really really bad idea.

And as a side note, put blister patches into yer washbags for the weekend and talc, talc the feets by default but have the blister patches in case the worst happens (this goes for all footwear choices).

Yes drizzle fine, torrential downpours their the problem, but let's keep it positive, the weather gods will be good to us

My comment was tongue in cheek.

I've been to enough gigs/festivals to know the right footwear is so important. That said, the amount of people that'll be cracking out the brand new white trainers on the day will be stupefying.

    Docs. End of.

I've a pair that gave been up mountains, in rivers, through muck and snow, plenty of picnics, gigs and never fail me.

Will do me best to make Trailer Park Harvest gig.

Would it be ridiculous/sad to head to EP solo? (be honest)

Friends pulled out but I still REALLY want to head down.
I go solo every year. It's great!

EP is basically a fashion statement at this stage!

Saturday night last year would like to disagree

I’d just like to say that I take it all back....my moaning about the line up...my moaning on waiting on the announcement... etc

I’ve loads of research done, loads to see, loads of new places to explore that I normally don’t get to see and tbh chic really topped it all off for me.

It’s going to be such a brilliant weekend

Probably will be a younger crowd than ever but it doesn't bother me too much really.

It doesn't bother me either. IMO far more important than the age of people who go is the attitude of them. The type of young people who are into walking on green cars and the like probably aren't exactly trouble makers. Also, it's good to have people wandering around being excited about stuff. Better than people being annoyed.
The teenagers usually flock to the rave in the woods, casa bacardi, main stage, heineken, 3 area, bold motel etc. If you want to avoid the young crowd altogether there are still plenty of stages they don't go to.

Never too old for the rave in the woods

Thank you. I've made my mind up to go, life is far too short to let someone else dictate my festival attendance.

I'll throw on some of "fashion statement" gear and get on with it ;)

Sorry if this has already been covered but are there any decent Spotify playlists that also include the acts playing the smaller stages?

The main spotify link that's been doing the rounds in the thread has been updated to include a lot of them

maybe not in public but they're the sort of banal f**kers who wind up working in banking or other such evil and so should be put to the sword as soon as possible... *
