This is very true. People complain about the mopre commercial aspects and ****ty stages blaring out crap music and drowning out real stages but the reality is that it's excellent value for money.

I wonder how Jerry Fish feels about it. The "drowning out real stages" that is.

He's probably not too happy. To be honest id pay an extra 50 if they got rid of all those stages and gave us a few bars selling a good selection of craft beers, I know there was one in 2016 but the selection was crap.

Saturday and Sunday nights weren't too bad for the cold. Friday though, holy ****, it was baltic

there was a bit of frost around my tent, it was that cold. Saturday was worse though, just the horrid cold wind combined with the rain. Rain on its own is fine, but that ****ing wind.

Well he escaped from his own tent on Friday night to come into the Haunt for a while, must've hung around there for a good hour, I canna blame him.

    Just got my tickets.

Say what you want about EP, Festival Republic and the over-commercialisation of it all, but €165 is incredible value, and the full ticket price hasn't changed in ten years.
Even better for those with those Ulster Bank accounts, or those who have pals with them. My brother-in-law got mine and with 25% off it works out at €128 including the booking fee. Not meaning to gloat or anything, it's just amazing value for three days and I'm sure there are plenty here who have that account or access to it.

Heard on Radio 6 on the drive to work this morning that The The will be playing shows next summer, already a couple lined up...

    This should happen!!!!!
Would absolutely love that. The dates announced mean they're almost certainly playing Primavera Sound. EP may be too late in the Summer but we can hope. And what price Mr. Marr being along with Matt J?

Got my correct 3 or more loyalty code this morning so I have a 2 or less loyalty code going spare. First PM gets it.
As far as I am aware, the codes are not "linked" to your ticketmaster account so can be passed on and used by anyone.

    GONE!

I've BnB'd it the last few years, worked my way up to a place in the town last year, so that's me for the foreseeable future. Lot's of people in the village seem to turn their homes into temporary BnB's for the weekend. My guy is dead on, big fry up in the morning, will drop me or pick me up if I need it (although there's never a need), 100 a night for the double room. I'll take it over PM or any of the other camping options. It's my one weekend, I'll take the financial hit. Hard to beat climbing in to a warm bed on the Saturday night this year.

    That's very sound.
I do agree on the locals cashing in. I know when I've been walking in the village, there are lots of houses with signs in the windows "rooms available" and "room €x for the weekend" and they don't necessarily look like actual bnbs (and there couldn't be that many actual bnbs in such a small village anyway). Sure why not if you have the room.

Even better for those with those Ulster Bank accounts,

What's the advantage of Ulster Bank account?

Sure why not if you have the room.

At least they aren't doing the "1 room in Dublin for 10 Students" trick.

Their uFirst accounts gets you 25% off from Ticketmaster. Though not available to new customers as they realise that some regular gig-goers have done very well out of it. I think you pay €10 - €15 a month for the account depending on when you signed up. My pals save hundreds of Euros a year on it.

I'm an absolute bell end! got my 3 EP code this morning after a stag weekend, I rather hastily bought the tickets with a muzzy head. Instead of buying 2 discount, I got 2 discounts and 2 early birds on the installment plan x4 tickets total. The cost was skewed as I thought the installment was the total argghhh!!
Slightly worried they'll be difficult to off load as there seemed to be allot of disappointment around tickets vs line up this year.

You'll have zero problems offloading those when the initial run sell out in 'minutes'.

How long were you all waiting for a loyalty code after filling in the form and submitting proof of attendance?

The code isn't much use to me now as I've already bought tickets but I notice I still haven't received it almost a week after requesting one.

Yeah I see it now. That does seem a bit sly alright. I didn't buy one yet. Might go for the loyalty scheme or I might just wait until the week before.

Monkey had his confirmation e-mail from ticketbastard 1 min 52 seconds after they went on sale last friday morning.

just no point hanging around in case that type of shizzle was gonna happen.

Heard from where? That's being said all over the FB comments too but I don't believe it, would have thought they'd be gone much quicker if it was that low
