Bit late to the party but yeah, Glass Needles completely re-roll the armour, stats and perks. If you haven't already done this, there are a few tips that might help you out before you start re-rolling your armour.

1. Take a second copy of the exotic from the vault
Re-roll the first one until you have a decent roll, then start re-rolling the second one to try and get a better roll. If you get a better roll, go back to the first piece and start re-rolling that one again. Means that you're guaranteed at least a decent roll.

2. Not all exotics can roll all stat combinations
You may be looking for an int + dis roll on your Nothing Manacles and waste a load of glass needles wondering why it never comes up. Turns out that many exotic pieces have one set stat that will always appear. This Reddit thread lists all the possible combos on all exotics (fyi, the max stat rolls have changed since that post so the table is incorrect).
