Good cold/wet weather clothing

So I'm looking for some good cycling gear to wear in the cold and wet weather. I have a cheapish waterproof jacket that I got from Decathlon but it does leave me with sweaty arms as I often just wear a normal cotton t-shirt underneath. Not sure how it will hold up when it's colder as it's not warm material. Was thinking of…

I have been pulling my hair out with mudguard selection recently. Between incorrect sizing (my fault) and a lack of a horizontal bolt hole on the rear bridge (it's vertical) on my hybrid bike and the serious lack of knowledge from various high street shops I have finally bitten the bullet on a set of SKS mudguards which I know from reviews will cause more fitting headaches
