    Yes as do our force check other states vehicles.

    If they find you have no insurance say bye bye to vehicle.

    You have to have the original insurance certificate in the car and I would expect that if they were suspicious they would contact the insurer, ask you to pass the data protection checks and then ask whether the insurance was valid. Failing that they could ask for assistance from the Gardai, all the while your car would be impounded and racking up fees.

    If the UK police think its not insured they'll lift it and the person will need to provide evidence that it's insured. You need to be road legal in your country of origin to be legal in a different country.

    I don't know why they'd bother checking.. the onus is on you to prove the car is insured. If you have the insurance disc and insurance cert you should be fine. If you don't, they can seize the car until you can prove you have insurance.

    just get it insured save yourself a ton of hassle and if you cant afford it cycle simple.
