Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

These are the two best teams in the country. It is a real disrespect to
construct some sort of joint team out of the two.

That being said Dublin for the historic Three in a Row. \o/

Mayo to end the famine at long last. Dublin can be beaten Sunday. Dublin are good team but not a great team. I think the back line is pretty ordinary and Mayo have the ability to exploit that. Mayo by 3.

This is probably what i'm rebelling against tbh. I just don't find this convincing. Passing the ball (always from hand) sideways and never taking your man on just doesn't do it for me.

KK is great in the air, a fierce competitor and an intelligent footballer. You could justifiably pick him on that basis. Being the 'quarter back'....not having it.

FWIW i like McLoughlins passing from foot. He'd be a joy to watch if he had three good inside forwards moving for him.

He's a bit inconsistent. He can go from the sublime to the ridiculousness. He's a confidence player so if things are going well he's great.
He's disappointed in a number of AI finals now so he's due a big one.
Personally as a player for the big occasion I'd go with KK.
Its interesting though to create a joint team. It tells you who has the better team by who has the more players on it.

Durcan, Harrison and Boyle wouldn't be far off getting on a joint team, in fact most of the Mayo defence. There's not much between Clarke and Cluxton. One is the best shot stopper in the country, the other a master of the kickout.

Strange fish. You never have anything to add. Out of curiosity had quick look at your recent few posts. In half of your last 8 posts, the only thing you refer to is people dreaming. Strange.

Any chance you could give a little insight on how you think the match will go. Any potential tactics?

You call me a strange fish ? nothing better to do than checking my posts?.How sad is that ? lol..
As for the dreaming , that's in response to a lot of dreamers on here predicting an easy Mayo win.
Dublin are peaking at the right time and in my opinion will be to strong for Mayo in the last 10 minutes, Dublin by 3 pts.

Is it? I know there is talk of some sort of big screen thingy being put up Smithfiled for the match, but I didn't know the home coming had already been announced for there too. We've had our four victorious homecomings in three different parts of the city, so God knows where we'll wind up when we do the ten in a row. There is so much talk of sending us on the road more, maybe we should spread the Dubs love and have one down the country. :P

Just imagine a county where the only people to have seen a homecoming are nearly 70 years old and it's not even sure most of them would remember it. Winning an All ireland would mean so much to so many Mayo people at home and abroad.
But still 70 minutes to play to give it everything we have, 'to win just once would be enough'

I'd love to see mayo win as knowing several people from mayo and seeing how cut up they are when mayo haven't gotten the job down I'd love to see it as i've been told I won't see either for a week at least if they do it. :D

Yeah, the big screen was cancelled/never going ahead because they had an event the day before hand and there was the possibility of a homecoming the day after, would have been too much for the residents.

Well, put the bloody thing somewhere else then. They have a whole city to choose from. It's not like we're Castlebar some one horse hick town in the sticks, that never holds big events, or has never hosted a victorious AI home coming celebration before.

I just don't get it when some Dublin supporters feel a need to insult or denigrate other counties. Castlebar is actually a lovely town and far nicer than many parts of Dublin.

It's really not. Players deserve to be able to enjoy the moment with each other and families.

The closer it gets the more the nerves are at me. But I feel it in my waters that it's going to be a classic.

They have the rest of their lives to enjoy it with their families.

I'm pretty sure one of the attractions of playing inter county football or hurling is the crowd, the atmosphere, the adulation the payers receive from the fans so I always find it odd that the fans showing this at the greatest moment of all is taking away something from the players.I'm sure some of the players themselves would have been involved in pitch invasions if they were allowed to seeing as they were fans before they were players and will be fans again afterwards.

The sheer outbreak of joy from thousands of people during a pitch invasion is much much better than the sterile presentation we get now and also people should remember that the reason pitch invasions happened was in order to get a proper look at the presentation of the trophy.

The only reason for banning pitch invasions should be for safety reasons and for that I have no problem with the ban on them but the end of the final lacks something now compared to the past but for safety reasons that is probably teh best option but not for any other reason is it.

Stay where you are and enjoy the moment imo.

Let the players and team enjoy the immediate euphoria with the 30 or 40 people that they've shared the blood, sweat and tears. Let them commiserate with their opponents, many of whom are also good friends. Let them walk around the pitch and soak in the atmosphere.

I know I would prefer that rather than having some lunatic from Lahardane or some crazy from Crossmolina jumping all over me right after winning.

If there was some way of letting the supporters in 10-15 mins or so after the players have had a bit of space then I would be all for that.

    Totally agree

When I look back at it now the pitch invasion looks daft.

The fans in the stands can move around to get better views of the presentation, lap of honor etc as the stadium empties.

We'll have a dublin taoiseach instead of a mayo one attending this year, has anyone calculated the impact that will have?

Other than Leo whasisisface will be visibly excited and possibly try to explain the offside rule to uachtarán cumann luthcleas gael

Varadkar looked unbelievably bored at the camogie final presentation, thought it looked slightly poor form from him to be honest he may not be a big GAA man but would it do any harm to look even remotely interested and have some sort of a smile on his face particularly considering the achievements of Rena Buckley who was accepting the trophy.

Hmm yes or sprint 20 seconds across the pitch while taking out one or two stewards on the way. :D Seriously though I can see the point of not having a pitch invasion but think it will happen if Mayo win.
