Who the f**k would want their picture taken with Ray D'Arcy... Roy Keane was right, Irish people really need to lift their expectations.

Hahaha, what's this in relation to?

    He's just a bad ref.

That's plainly untrue. Dublin have 2-3 points from him failing to give blatant frees up the other half and giving nothing frees against Mayo

    Hope I'm wrong here..

.. but after that half, I can't help but think the Dub's have more in the tank than Mayo at the minute.

A good shot up under the jaw for him when the chance presents itself.

How many times has it been said,"Mayo should be further ahead"?.They dominated so much of that first half.

Standard of referring in the championship so far is a disgrace.

Particular highlights include Tipperary v Armagh and Cork V Mayo, but this game is doing it's best to join the elite of refereeing sh*te.

Great first half, unbelievably exciting and it has a brilliant atmosphere.

Mayo will regret not being further in front, on the run of play they've been 5 or 6 points the better team in the first half.

Aidan O'Shea and Andy Moran have been brilliant for Mayo , Cillian O'Connor has been quite poor.

Mayo have done brilliant work on the kickouts, they're forcing Cluxton to kick long a lot and Dublin aren't getting the runners in space for Cluxton to pick out like he usually has so he's being force by Mayo to boot the ball down the middle which doesn't suit Dublin as they haven't got great fielders compared to Mayo.

O'Gara needs to be taken off at half time he's done barely nothing so far.

Disappointing refereeing thus far. I make his decisions a 3 point swing to Dublin (sorry, 2, can't guarantee Mayo scoring from frees currently)

Mcquillan is shocking. Andy Moran is getting fouled continuously and no free. Ciaran Kilkenny got a free for nothing prior to that farcical free.

Mayo should be well in front although Dublin still have MDMA, Brogan, Connolly, Mcmenamin, to spring from the bench....

It's nicely poised for second half but I hope Mayo do it

Yeah, they've a 16th man in the tank.

The ref bashing is just odd, he's been fairly consistent throughout punishing both teams.

I'm counting four points of advantage Joe McQuillan has given to his friends in Dublin in by both denying Mayo legitimate scorable frees and giving dubious frees to Dublin.

They have on the bench anyway, it will take a courageous mayo effort to hold on to this.

3 must be a magic number for joe mcquillan. Shocking performance by him.

Just saw it. Awful. They should be playing with 14 men but they're playing with 16

Blessed to get in one down. Mayo should be out of sight.

Mcquillan terrible, other than that last free for nothing his bad decisions being evened out. Whistle happy, yellow happy (For anyone disagreeing, if seen, Moran surely gets a black, he'd be worth 2-3 pts).

Mayo could rue those missed opportunities and all of their possession. They should be further ahead. Easily the better team in that half.

    Dublin are filthy and leaderless.

Ref is poor. It is not a 1 point half.

O'Shea is playing a stormer. O'Connor is having a silly day. Cluxton overrated.

    Football standard is bad.

Moran is player of the year.

    It's no hurling final.

Mayo should win. They are playing all the football.

Sun will play a factor in 2nd half. Mayo to score a goal from a high ball in towards the goal.

All pro-Dublin conspiracies aside, Joe McQuillan is having a dreadful game. His positioning is very poor and he's missing clear incidents because of it. He's been slow getting around the pitch and is too close to the ball.

He's panicking when things start to get heated too and is just throwing out yellow cards for fun which makes it look far worse that he's missing clear yellow and red card incidents.

People crying about the refs decisions in favor of Dublin? What about the decisions Mayo have got? Off the ball shoulder on Cooper allowing O'Connor to score for example

They'd have won maybe one all-Ireland out of the last four if it wasn't for clearly biased corrupt refereeing along the way helping them and denying their next nearest opponents.

Not sure Mayo can replicate that intensity in the second half but they have dictated the game so far and should be further ahead.

Publishing them both for off the ball stuff equally. He's giving Mayo nothing going forward in the way of scorable frees that were fairly blatant and gifted Dublin a few that were dubious at best. Dublin scored from the turnover on the frees that Mayo should've had

    Dublin Joe strikes again

Dublin people should be ashamed to celebrate winning with a bought referee again and again

C'mon Mayo beat the establishment, beat the golden boys, beat the professionals

Have a look at the football played by the Kerry team of the 70's and 80's and come back to us will you.what we are seeing today is a million times better.

O Gara was never really a starting player and today he got the nod before all those on the bench, so could people now shut up about the mighty dublin panel.

He's been equally good/bad on the off the ball stuff.

OGara should be off and there was two times when Dublin players basically sat on Mayo forwards to stop them getting up and effectively stopped the attacks.

And after this game we will be hearing the usual crap about their being a curse on this Mayo team. Load of bollcoks. If they were good enough or had the winning mentality they would be 5/6 points up. THEIR OWN FAULT

When a Dublin player goes down injured through no foul and should be penalised for holding onto the ball, he gives a throw-in.
When two Dubs run into each other, he gives a free in to Dublin.
Those were two pretty obvious "decisions" that make no logical sense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

RTE came back after the break and then went to another break after 2 minutes. They'll be back now $h1t€ing on about that damn competition.

Yeah, I don't think anyone who says that thinks there is an actual, physical curse on Mayo.

They have gotten scorable frees, but O'connor has missed them.
Lots of off the ball going on, and Mayo are holding their own in that regard. Joe isn't having a good game, but he can't see everything, and neither team is particularly interested in playing within the rules. He'll end up though sending someone off for something minor.
