Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got the call earlier today. I’m starting in DOJ on the 7th January. They’re gonna email me out a contract shortly. They couldn’t say which specific location at this point but did say city centre. Happy out! For reference I’m batch 2 OOM 60’s :)

Congratulations to you, are you happy with that?
Do you mind me asking when they checked your references? How long were you waiting for the offer after they checked? And did you say you had to give a months notice? I can't imagine they'll start anyone in a new role this side of Christmas.

Thanks a lot, I’m chuffed. I only had one reference which is my current boss of 3 years. PAS contacted him a few days after my initial phone call which was the 7th. So from reaching my number to being given a start date was only two weeks including vetting.

I just suggested that I start early new year and they were fine with that. Hope that helps somewhat. And good luck!

Great, just what I was hoping to hear. They are calling my current employer this week and all vetting is complete.
Would ideally like to finish up in my job mid December and start fresh in January. I'm batch 1 oom 930 so been waiting a while to hear!
    Best of luck

Congrats, DOJ have lots of offices in city centre. They have some in the PAS building, burgh quay & Hanover street too but there are alot more than those. Depending on the section you go to. I did 18 months tco in that dept. Very interesting work.

Well yes for the bank holidays etc. But it slows over Christmas because staff take time off and other departments are also down staff.

Hi, I have been keeping an eye on this thread from early on but is my first post. Passed my interview a couple of weeks ago and am in Batch 4, just wanted to say thanks to the various people that put up tips & info about interviews it was very useful.
I've seen a couple of people say there is 400 in batch 2 & others say 1000 just wondering if anyone had a definitive answer on it and batch 3 as i contacted PAS earlier and they could only say how far along they are but couldn't give out how many are in each batch?

Hi, When I contacted Pas a few weeks back ,i was told there is 390 people in batch 2 . I was unsure if this was 390 people out of 1000 passed the interview or 390 people total stage 2.

Did they say what number they were at today please . I'm in the 100s batch 3 so can't tell you any higher than that in my batch

How long does clearance usually take? Got an email 2 weeks ago saying my number was reached, that they had to check references and process everything before they could even tell me a department. I said it was fine, no contact since then though and they didn't ask me to submit anything or do anything else

Can anyone give me a bit of advice ?Starting in Justice early January. Have had a long weekend away booked for 8th February prior to my job offer. Would be looking for the Friday and Monday off after only a month in the job. Anyone envisage this being a problem? Thanks

Just say it the day you start, there will be no problems. You will have leave to use between January and the end of March anyway and your leave is nearly automatically awarded to you. Plus if it's a little bit more than a month, you could work up flexi leave and that's a total of 11 hours & 7 minutes for 1 and half days leave. You can build that up every month.

    "Hello,

xxxxx has passed your file to me to continue with the clearance.

A reference is still outstanding from your referee. Can you please speak to your employer regarding the reference?

If we cannot secure a reference by Monday, December 3rd, your application will receive no further consideration"

Just got this from PAS. They hae asked me 2 weeks ago was it ok to check reference and I said it was. Is it not up to them to contact my reference? Did people get a letter and send it in? Thought surely they would usually contact them on your behalf

I work currently for an employer who has a company policy of no references just a signed sheet to say I work there. So I just put down my former employers and a chairman of sporting organisation I play for. Does anyone think that will be an issue?

I've been assigned to a department since Friday but haven't heard from anyone from that office yet. Is this the usual process? How long do you think I'll have to wait before I get a start date ect?
