Which specialist to see for my lower limb problems (more details in the post)?

First, excuse me for my bad English, I'm a recent expat to Dublin.

I am overweight (by ~20kg) and I want to go back to running, but I have issues just standing and walking in the first place, so I guess it's not a wise decision to up the game right now. I've been looking to see a specialist (physio, podiatrist, orthopedist..) but I'm at a loss on which one I should actually see. If it's of help, this is my condition:
    • When I stand, but especially when I walk, my left knee, hamstring and hip hurt and I tend to limp (although not as much as a few years ago) to the right side. It becomes really noticeable when I try to run.
    • When I'm sitting, my right ankle/heel doesn't touch the ground (I'm on my tiptoes) unless I force the calf, which seems tighter than the left one. It's uncomfortable when I do so, though not painful.
    • When lying down in a supine position, my legs are even (the same length) but my right ankle is pulled in, towards me. Just like when I sit down.
    • When sitting, but with the legs extended in front of me (like when I'm on my bed), the right leg gets slightly shorter.
Based on the above, which specialist should I see? Anything close to Dublin 4-6 area? Anyone else with the same symptoms that had it fixed (just to know what to expect)?

Looking forward for your advice. Thank you in advance.

5 days and not even a reply. Didn't expect that. I didn't ask for a diagnosis, just a recommendation.

Sorry captmundi, I'd imagine like me, most people here know nothing about either your condition or who to recommend about it so are unable to offer any advice. You could start off by seeing a physio and take it from there. I don't live in D4 /6 though so can't recommend anyone in particular. Have you asked your GP for their advice?

Go see Paul Gallaher in Naas. I'll pm you his contact details.

Darren in Base2Race (DK Orthotics) -http://base2race.ie/dk-orthotics/ , has worked miracles on my knee issues, cannot recommend higher.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/
