Anyone get the file signed off recently. From January 16 with OOM top 100 waiting since Feb to get signed off. Lost all hope at this stage.

    That's insane.

Can you think of any reason for delay, was there setbacks along the way ie. Failed PCT, Medical etc?
Will be over two years at least at this rate, and with a high OOM..

Flew through all stages. My vetting took till February this year to clear.

Anyone got the number handy to get an update on vetting?

If your vetting cleared in February what would be the reason then you weren't taken in May/Aug or November?

That just another number for HR is it?
Sadly vetting is one of those things that is extremely variable. Final sign off should be relatively quick to either say yes or the dreaded "generally unsuitable". If your waiting that long maybe asking HR to chase it wouldn't be out of place. Human error can't be discounted, always the chance a file could end up sitting at the bottom of a pile etc. That is just musings not insider knowledge by the way folks.
Best of luck everyone and lets try stay sane and if we must follow up with HR, for most of us keep it to a minimum. The fewer distractions we provide the better for all not just us.

Is there any reasons given behind a not suitable

Only someone who has received one or seen someone else's could answer that with certainty. There is as I understand it a multi stage appeal process for it anyway, so while it's a kick in the teeth I think you are given a chance to explain whatever it is that has concerned them. That said regardless of the amount of time vetting or sign off is taking for people don't let worries about that creep in.

    A few points?

As in penalty point on your drivers license?

    That's kinda irrelevant.

No problem, I could spend all day listing reasons vetters would dig deeper on someone and still not cover half of it. Anytime they end up doing a little extra digging or checking it's more time.

As for your penalty points as above I'm sure nothing there that would even raise an eyebrow. As long as nothing you've ever been involved in raises questions about your honesty and integrity.

Well lads I'm from the September 2016 and have all stages cleared since August. Hrm told me my vetting is still not back I was just wondering does that mean it's awaiting a sign off or does that come after?

I would take that to mean it's still with the local station or the vetting unit. Once it's back from them it goes up the chain to be signed off by senior management.

Ah I see. It's really confusing because when I met with the chief super after my fitness (could have been shortly before fitness hard to remember) he said the vetting is good and have his recommendation so I assumed it was just a case if the hrm guys signing off on it.

I'm still holding out for February though the waiting is more painful than doing all the stages.

I'm out for Feb also I think. Same as above.

Realistically, there is 4/5 weeks to get my vetting back and approval for Feb.

Provided it even get's approved my senior management!

    Not a chance.

Is there a second round of offers heading out? I heard there was two in December. I'm from Sep 16 in the 700's also.

It seems really early for offers to go out

  • Registered Users Posts: 29 Nikkipapa

    Was any start date given?

Was hoping for a start date in February to give my file a chance to be signed off. Looks like March/ April before the next intake.

Congrats to all who got offers

Way to early! There are around 5 more working weeks till Christmas. I would imagine they will send them out the start of week 5 from now. As most will take leave for the Christmas week. If not then I imagine, week 1 of Jan but that gives them a little less time for play on there side for a Feb starting.

Then add the fact to the mix that, we still have no confirmed intakes for 2018 to my knowledge. So there may or may not be an intake in Feb, it could move to Mar/Apr.

My thoughts too. I'd guess it would have to be Feb for next intake as they have confirmed an intake of 800 for 2018. With 3 months between the 4 intakes of 200. Later than February would be running into December for last intake and I doubt that would happen. Only guessing!!

Believe the first 2 intakes for 2018 are January and March.

Some reason my last post deleted!

Yes, I heard the same. However note that it's subject to change.

All going well, I would expect offers to come out this week or next week to fit into the time line of 4 weeks.

Counting myself out of this one as vetting still outstanding.

Even if it's this week, I don't think I have ever seen them release on a Tuesday usually a Thursday or Friday. I think that's to give them a break for the weekend before the phone lines go into meltdown with questions from the trainees! :pac:

Maybe a Tuesday if the person is going on a holiday and hates the place :pac:
