    Hi All, Wondering if anyone can help me before I pull my hair out !!!

    I bought a kindle 4th Generation (No Touch) earlier today in CEX - I got it for my son so that he can load books onto it.

    I have tried to set it up and can't get it going

    There seems to be parental controls set on it by previous owner and I think this might be why I can't get it to connect it to my personal amazon account.

    The SW was out of date but I have done the software update and that seems okay

    But I can't get rid of the padlock symbol off the top of the screen.

    Any help greatly appreciated,

    Otherwise it is on its way back to CEX
