No septic tank

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with a site that's too small for a septic tank but existing old house already there.

Surely there's a green solution that does not require a septic tank or planning permission? (even if more expensive as a once off)

Be good to hear what solutions other people found.

Was connected to neighbours tank but due to nature of the sale, this arrangement will cease.

There is space around the house but not enough distance from house to boundaries to allow conventional percolation/tank be installed due to the regulations.

Have just made some enquiries about composting toilets which looks like very good option for that but what about water that goes down the drains from kitchen and bathroom sinks, washing machine etc
Doesn't that normally go to septic tank too? Not sure if there's a similar solution there.

Would consider some sort of raised treatment if it wasn't restricted by the same rules about distance from boundaries which is main obstacle?

Talk to a local environmental engineer.Had a similiar problem when we sold a house recently & the engineer worked with the council to get a new tank & percolation system installed in a small site.
Was very pricey though,but unable to sell house without it.
