    Hi

I have a Meba 320DGA CNC Bandsaw which requires a particular Hohner Encoder (Serie KHE86 SUCO NET KI encoder). As I cannot locate one of these encoders, I instead have a similar encoder (Hohner BC58 0013 EK42 USB encoder) which it should be possible for a computer programmer to make the machine compatible with. Does anybody have any experience of such computer programming who might be able to help?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

Reprogramming the machine will be a specialist job, won't be cheap and no way of being certain that there won't be additional issues as a result.

Have you tried sourcing the correct encoder from Meba? Even if the original encoder is no longer available they may have sourced a suitable alternative for others.

I can't find specs of your encoder online, do you have a pic?

Most encoders simply send a series of pulses as they rotate and I know companies like SICK make encoders that are programmable to give whatever output you need.

But of course you need the specs for the encoder you are trying to replace before you can select and program the encoder you need.
