Loved Ireland so much he went ripped up his passport and went to Egypt to support the Mussie Brotherhood.

    Quintessential Irishman.

    Ah Jaysus, it's yourself.

    Would you like:
    1. A cup of tea
    2. Some detonators

    No pressure...

When will his first interview happen now..... on (stifled muzzled media ha ha)

    RTE Radio 1. for example...

Now Ibrahamin, how did you go to jail. Oh that's awful. Did you get food, oh that's good.
Isn't the Irish Government great, yes, oh that's great.

    Censored....

What are your family's connections with the Muslim Br. and the Clonskeagh Mosque? I hear your sisters want their arranged marriage husbands from Turkey to get visas to be here as their spouses, how is that going? Not asked.

I hear your Dad cannot speak English, did he help get your brother/his son out of Egypt. No comment.

Did your mother say anything at all? No comment.

    Great news.

It's nothing if not predictable anyway but I'm sure you're WELL aware that in THIS thread, I'm talking about "far-right" Nazi-style politics not existing here (and can't we agree that is a great thing), and certainly not on this thread.

I'll happily stand by each of those posts by the way.

Would I be allowed in as a Western Woman without covering up? If so, I'll give it a go sometime soon.

Yes, home. To the country where he was born.

Another snowflake who doesn't understand the definition of racist.

Is that actually true? I recall that being debunked a few times but keeps being repeated

If he did not rip up his passport then why was he issued with an emergency one?

7 month passport issued in Cairo AFTER he was arrested.

Why? Where is his original 10 year passport?

She has a very valid point... you only need to read some of the threads on the first 2 pages here to see that.

There is an element (and not just on this site) that actively try to silence and discredit anyone or anything that is not consistent with their view on any given issue. Never mind dissenting views, even asking questions is apparently not permitted.

That is a very dangerous development in a country that likes to see itself as modern, enlightened and democratic.

Debate should never be stifled. By all means disagree, and counter-argue your point to support your position, but accept too that not everyone will or has to agree with you at the end of the day, and that's ok too in a free society.

But shouting someone down, ganging-up on them, or trying to paint them as racist/xenophobic/sexist/whatever!! to shut them up is just beyond the pale IMO and shouldn't be accepted or (tacitly) encouraged as is too often the case lately.

One cannot speak but of the mantra anymore.

Anything else results in insults which is really not in the spirit of AH, and it is lazy too. No debate.

And it comes from a Moderator too. Tut Tut.

We are being silenced. And ridiculed for having another voice. Or horror of horrors for being a woman. Ye Gods!

These people have the problem, not me, thankfully :)

I'm not arguing for or against those points - I'm saying you're happy to throw those terms around when it suits and pretend they don't exist when it doesn't.

Far right extends further than outright Nazis, and while marginalised (which yes, is a good thing), just look at Pegida Ireland and Identity Ireland for examples, and plenty of far right sentiments are expressed on AH quite often. For a closer example of 'Nazi far right' you've got the alt right, which indeed had sympathisers even here on boards when threads about it popped up.

Do you visit many buildings which are places of worship? Or old temples etc?
You will be required to cover up entering most of them.
    I don't see the issue?

Not what I said.. of course these terms exist - but attempting to infer that posters in this thread are "far right" because they are asking questions about the background of this case, or his motivations is just hysteria intended to inflame the discussion (and presumably lead to Mod actions)

Again I disagree. I'd argue that many here are using such terms in response to the "left" who are as I said above, throwing them out at anything/one they disagree with.

We don't have a far-left/right in this country thankfully. Even our "right" political parties are more centre-left, and our "left" are mostly one-issue opportunists or cast-offs from the Big 2.

Yes but there is a tendency for some, not all by any stretch, but some on the Far-Left to label anyone a Nazi that does not agree with them on all issues.

There were some absolutely demented, ****ing lunatics on The Guardian website who labelled Ed Miliband as Far Right(!) and that the BBC was a Far Right(!) platform.

    But Ed Miliband. Far Right.

'Red' Ed Miliband. The son of a prominent Jewish Socialist Intellectual!!!

    I've only one question.

"As an Irish lad, can you explain what you were doing on stage, at a Muslim Brotherhood rally addressing thousands of supporters, at the Day of Rage?"

    In your own time Ibrahim.

To claim Ireland is not his home country when he was born and raised here would fall under far right.

First, it's all somewhat subjective - I consider our two main parties as centre-right in large parts (and I've got nothing against centre right even if I disagree with a good bit of their policies); would agree those labelling themselves are further to the left here are a shambles too (and ironically are probably our most anti-tax contingent).

There is definitely a far right element on boards though, sure in the alt right threads we even had people linking to the likes of The Daily Stormer (an openly neo Nazi website) as legitimate sources, and situations for example in the Trump/election threads where the masks slowly slipped and the inherent/genetic 'superiority of the white man' became open topics of conversation some were arguing for. That's pretty definitively far right.

It was a restaurant associated with the mosque that was being discussed. Incidentally, I don't think the restaurant is in actual mosque and you don't have to cover up. Open to correction though.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.
