Deserves a break now. Great horse

Where to now for her? The Breeders Cup, English Champions day?

Will they keep her in training next year?

Winter was never happy at any stage of the race and Capri was equally out of sorts..

I thought Winter moved into a really good position in the home straight but it looked like Moore had to snatch her off someone's heels at a crucial moment. Not saying she would have worried the winer mind.

Would love to see them target the Champions and the Breeders Cup, though admittedly it's a big ask to try and go for the two. She looks remarkably fresh, though, for a long season and is tough enough to withstand it. Wouldn't surprise me either to see her put away for the season, especially if the plan is to bring her back next term.

It could pay to take heed of the effect of the draw ( first three drawn 3, 2, 1 ) on how horses ran in the Arc, the well beaten horses are probably much better than this race makes them look. The first 9 horses to cross the line were drawn 10 or lower and the only one missing from that top 10 was the pacemaker for the Japanese horse who raced prominently until fading .

I found out at midday that the Arc was not on my TV. I just watched it on Youtube now.
Enable is a class above and we are lucky to see her run. There may not be another like her for years.
I think they should retire her as she has done it all. The owner does not need the money.
Capri might not have recovered from the St Leger, but no excuses for any.

If there's any firm in the description then Ulysses is a huge price. How is he only 2 points shorter than Cracksman? I think he'll get a lot closer to Enable this time. No way should there be that much of a difference in price and I suspect Ulysses will shorten up quite a bit. Also how is OOSG shorter than Highland Reel? All depends on the ground I suppose. Winter would be a fascinating runner and the only other two I'd have on my mind would be Brametot and Waldgeist, whatever happened to Waldgeist?

He goes in the Gp 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, 11/10 fav at the minute, I think. The donkey Midterm also runs there and gets yet another chance to redeem himself.

Could give us a clue or two about how the GP1 class 3yo colts compare to the older reasonably moderate group class horses.

Timeform have Enable 137 after the win. Sounds a little high when they suddenly give the one timr gr.1 winner Cloth of Stars a 132 rating

Reading another forum a good point was made.
To illustrate the point I think it best to lay out the pedigrees.
The first three in the Arc were very closely related.

    1) Enable .............. by Nathaniel (Galileo-Magnificent Style) ....... out of Concentric (Sadler's Wells-Apogee)
    2) Cloth Of Stars .... by Sea The Stars (Cape Cross-Urban Sea) ... out of Strawberry Fledge (Kingmambo-Lingerie)
    3) Ulysses ............. by Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea) ....... out of Light Shift (Kingmambo-Lingerie)

If I'm reading that right the sires of the 2nd and 3rd are half brothers and the dams are full sisters?

Thats pretty remarkable I would have thought. Wonder why more of a deal was not made of it at the time?

Not often you'd see that alright

Yep and they're remarkably similar in that they both flopped in a very poor Derby, both have shown a lot of speed combined with 12f stamina and they've improved into GP1 winners at 4. It's also a great portent for their stallion careers, because they obviously come from stock that transmits class.

And the winner is by a grandson of Sadlers Wells out of a daughter of Sadlers Wells.

I' m pretty sure I've seen one or two winners this season bred put with the two half brothers Sea The Stars as sire and Galileo as dam sire. Jim Bolger went through a phase of trying that inbreed out.

Not so sure where you are getting the 137 rating from, unless I'm making some mistake they have her on 134.
Enable became the first three-year-old filly from Britain/Ireland to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, and made it a fifth Group 1 win of the campaign in doing so. Her performance was every bit as striking as Treve’s first success as a three-year-old in 2013, and she is now Timeform rated 134 from 130p. Cloth of Stars (132 from 125) ran a massive career best to chase Enable home, having to pick his way through but unable to land any sort of blow on the winner once he got into the clear, while Ulysses – behind Enable in the King George earlier in the season – ran to his top-class best once again in third (remains rated 130), beating last year’s third Order of St George (remains on 128) into fourth. No plans have been announced for Enable next season, but hopefully she’ll be given the opportunity to emulate Treve and defend her title at Longchamp in 2018.
