Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you know an Irish/English person?

    Get them to say "Streichholzschächtelchen".

    Hilarity will ensue.

    Why are we speaking German?

P.S. Is that the side of a box of matches?

No it simply means match box, you could also call it a "Streichholzschachtel". Equally difficult to pronounce for a native English speaker. Although the Irish shouldn't have much of a problem as the Gaelic language contains guttural speech sound.

I'm not Dutch but have studied the language a bit. However, tongue-twisters duch as "de postkoetsier poetst de postkoets met postkoetspoets op een postkoetspoetsdoek" are a bit beyond me at this stage ...

It's kind of funny because they're so short of physical space in their houses, from what I was told.

Am sure the Dutch can't manage that either.

My favourite German tongue twister is:

Fischers Fritz fischt frische Fische, frische Fische fischt Fischers Fritz

Lots of spitting involved trying that one :D

The people in the Dinaric Alps (Croatia/Serbia/Montenegro) are supposed to be taller, but maybe the average in those countries is a bit lower.

They speak Vlaams or Flemish. Which is kind of Dutch in a way. The Walloons speak French. Can't stand each other I believe.

I'm a big fan of Steve McClaren affecting a dutch accent for only
the reason that he is speaking to a Dutch reporter. Also the little gestures and body language.

If you say "Space Ghetto" in an American accent, it sounds exactly like a Scottish person saying "Spice Girl"

Lanky Dutch person slick back blonde hair, with a taste for weed while also being fairly conservative, seeks good Gouda in Gouda all washed down with Jenever.

P.s. Don't forget the webbed feet

I never said they were a bit cocky.
I said the ones I met were obnoxious.

Their views on race, nationalities, poor people etc.

Keep in mind this was different people over a long period.

    Hopefully an unfortunate coincidence.

Not really a tongue twister, just a theoretical word to illustrate consonant repetition.
