Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd take a comfortable win for United here with a much-changed 11 from the league regulars.

I do expect a United second-string team to win here, but Burton Albion are not laughable fodder. They've been doing quite well climbing the leagues the last few years.

Unfortunately for them though, the Championship seems to be the limit of that climb with them currently treading water in the Championship's relegation zone. So I'd be expecting any United team to be able to handle them at Old Trafford tonight.

There is the unpredictability of cup games, but United should be winning this without much drama. If we go out of a cup at this stage, I'll be a bit livid. Trophies are nice, especially when you have the squad to contend for them, which we do. No excuses tonight, unless Jose literally names the entire U-23 team for this fixture. In which case, we have some problems.

Be nice to see Angel Gomes. He is doing a bit of a Sancho at the moment and not signing the contract offer, involvement here could help.

Would have preferred MC Tom in there rather than Mata who Jose will surely be selling in January as clearly sees him as nothing more a Carabao cup level luxury player. #12monthsago

All trolls welcome - ye've had a quiet few weeks :)

Id love to have seen a few youngsters but I understand that Jose has to keep giving game time to senior players. Any chance it is a 4-4-2 with Martial & Rashford up top together?

  • Expect Burton to take a bad beating here
They have made 9 changes too!! Eyes on the championship.

They are giving it a good go but mistakes will be pounced on

With this team giving Albion so much possession they are not doing themselves any favors getting into the starting XI for a PL game

Oh Martial that would have been so sexy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,592 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Between the two chances, as much as I love scissor kick goals, the touch by mata for the nutmeg would have easily made it a better goal for me

Burton RB should have been booked by now, that's 4 cynical fouls on Martial

  • Utd playing some seriously sexy stuff

A long way to go with him but there is zero rush to put him in. If push came to shove I would expect Blind to start at CB before him at the moment.
