Cork lead 0-11 to 1-7 at the break.

Kerry now lead by the minimum after 51 minutes, 2-11 to 1-13.

FT - Kerry win 2-14 to 1-15. Now onwards to Friday, and the under-20s.

U20's looking very flat against a very motivated Cork side. Still level at half time though.

    Kerry 1-6
    Cork 0-9

Cork have scored in bursts and look best when running at Kerry. But they keep going back to hit and hope balls into the Full forward. To be fair they are getting some scores off it Stefan is doing well to break the ball off him,but the corner backs are struggling to win breaks.

    Intersting second half ahead.

Stefan looks very promising in there.

It must take some serious doing to get two teams as packed with talent as we've had at U20 for the last two years to look this bad.

We will probably get out of it thanks to a bit of raw talent but everything about the preparation/execution looks putrid.

Someone I was talking to lately with good connections reckons Peter Keane is the man in the boxseat for after Fitzmaurice.

Watching his teams vs JOC's is like a getting a back rub vs being slapped with a fish

Just when you mention last year's team, even though we won you wouldn''t bet against a repeat of a similar flat performance like the Galway game at some stage.

They were a mirror image in some ways. The lack of accuracy in execution of simple passes and headless chicken approach to shot selection in particular.

Our Super 8 group has become a little clearer after the draw this morning.

    Kerry
    Galway
    Fermanagh/Kildare
    Laois/Monaghan

14/15 July vs Galway in Croke Park
    21/22 July vs Laois/Monaghan Away
    4/5/6 August v Fermanagh/Kildare in Killarney.

The two toughest teams to start off with. 2 wins would mean an opportunity to possibly rest players for the game at home, and prepare for a Semi Final clash with Tyrone or Donegal most likely.

An early loss to Galway would have us facing down probably Monaghan in Clones to survive. While the young lads have done well so far, thats a pretty daunting proapect for a young team.

With our Quarter Final luck the last few years, the chances are that Laois will beat Monaghan and Fermanagh will beat Kildare and everyone will moan about how easy Kerry have it.

The fact the Galway game is on in Croke Park should suit us, as even the younger players will have plenty experience of playing there. Topping the group will be vital, assuming semis would be against the runners-up of Group 2, and vice-versa.

First saw his name at FB when he man marked Clifford when Fossa played Na Gael in the junior championship. Has all the attributes for that position, fast, strong fella and decent in the air.

100% should get it given the relationship with some of the young guys we have coming along

Yeah, winners of Group 1 play second placed team in Group 2 and vice versa.

Kerry v Galway to throw in at exactly the same time as the World Cup final:

What exactly do you propose as an alternative time ?

Triple header on Saturday, and the other game at 2 p.m.?

Triple header on Saturday, and the other game at 2 p.m.?

And do what with the other qualifier set for 2pm on Sunday ?

Laois v Fermamagh as a stana alone fixture in CP at 2pm on Sunday ?

I think there is an option that might make more sense for an early afternoon Sunday standalone game.

England potentially getting to the WC final rules out that option. Big day in the pub.

Cork confirming how poor they are today.

    We've beaten nothing yet.

Galway will be a massive step up.

Kerry Juniors defeated Kildare today, 2-17 to 1-14. They will now play Galway in the All Ireland Junior Final on the weekend of July 21/22.

Galway a massive step up?? They barely beat roscommon , who have a long way to reach Kerrys level , ye will cost past this group in the super 8s

Ye may have nothing beat yet but ye wont have much better beat by the time ye reach the semi final trust me there is a huge gap between the few and the many in football at the moment

Roscommon are a very decent side. Some very good forwards.

Much better side than either Clare or Cork.

    Cork v Kerry ended 2-4 to 3-18

    Cork v Tyrone ended 0-13 to 3-20

Tyrone actually managed to score more than us against them, which is fair going, but they also conceded 13 scores versus our 6. Plus neutral venue vs home venue. Anyway, shows us what we already knew - we can't tell anything from the Cork game. Now if they would only move the Galway game so that it doesn't clash with the World Cup final!
