I was about to say Stephen Wallace was a good guest on Terrace Talk

But he just wondered if Bryan Sheehan come out of retirement to play in goal for Kerry

Lol. Sure wasn't that idea brought up by some clowns the year he retired. The "thinking" behind it was he played in goal some stage about 20 years ago and would be on the pitch for long range frees lol.

I think he was half joking half letting his imagination run away with himself.

Any idea if the match in Killarney will be televised? Won't be able to make it down and I'm aware that the Galway Monaghan match will be on at the same time.

Both are being televised by Sky afaik, don't know which channels yet.

For some reason- I’ve watched the game back again and leaving McManus 1 on 1 inside has to be a sackable offence

Well if I had a Seamus Moynihan to mark him I'd say no bother.

A little off topic, this is Kerry hurling lads.
the kerry county board CCC who get away with all sorts of crap.

This is a Post from the Austin stacks hurling facebook page:

Austin Stacks Hurling Club is feeling annoyed.
    57 mins ·
Does our county board care about hurling in Kerry??

Austin Stacks hurlers have been informed that they are NOT ALLOWED enter into this years Junior Hurling County Championship.

The reasons for this have been given as
    (1) Late Application
    (2) It was felt that Austin Stacks would be too strong for the other teams in the competition"

We have been invited to participate in a one off game against the winners of the junior championship which they are calling an Intermediate Shield Game

    (1)
The CCC informed us on July 2nd that they would be holding a meeting on July 4th to discuss whether or not to allow us play in this years Junior championship so late application wasn't a genuine reason.

    (2)
Prior to this season the last competitive game we had won was in 2016 after losing all matches since in the South Kerry League, South Kerry Championship, North Kerry League, North Kerry Championship, County League and County Championship.
We have participated in the Intermediate County Championship in 2013, 2014 and 2017 losing heavily in the first round each year.

We approached the county board at the beginning of the season regarding the current state of hurling in our club due to lack of numbers, an aging squad and low numbers filtering through from Tralee Parnells ( no new player since 2016) and informed them that due to these reasons our team will more than likely disband in the very near future.
As a squad we were promised at the beginning of the season by the county board that any player from Tralee would have to play with Austin Stacks if they wished to play hurling and not be allowed to represent teams outside the town such as North Kerry clubs - this GAA rule has not been implemented and there are numerous players from Tralee hurling with other clubs.

16 players ( 2 of which are travelling up from Cork) is the maximum amount we have had available to field a team at any game so far this season, every other game we have had to play 13 a side.

As a squad we are doing all we can to keep adult hurling afloat in the town of Tralee but unfortunately this latest decision by the CCC looks like being the straw that breaks the camels back.

Was just going to comment on this. Stacks really are far too strong for Junior but the county board could have said something about it sooner.

Going forward having Parnells as the hurling club in Tralee is the right thing

It might be possible to play football for on club and hurl for another if your football club has no hurling team, and the hurling team you go to has no football team.

This was the case with our club, with the senior hurling team playing football with other clubs that had no hurling teams

agreed that they are too strong for Duagh and Saint Pats but apparently Ballyheigue are in it and they are stronger then stacks..... also the CCC are a disgrace with timing. how is it possible for a team to not be allowed have a championship after training since January. Its a joke and they shouldn't get away with it. if they were blocked from going junior then they had to play intermediate. its that simple. the CCC (ASSHOLES) time keeping of complaints and draws etc is just shocking

This seems odd to me. Is it a case they wanted to be regraded half way through the year ?

An issue, that some in the club would't like to admit, is the lack of admission. Many decent hurlers from other counties and even in Tralee itself probably have no interest in playing Junior, while some within the club will gladly play and win it year in year out.

it had been well known since the start of the year that they wanted to regrade to junior. was voted in by every player at the start of the year. county board (CCC) reacting too late and too slow as always.

I'm still not following....been well known and applying for same would be different.

Did they apply at the start of the year to be regraded?

I imagine the intermediate championship is underway or at least the draw made so applying now would not really be a runner.

If You enter a county competition and apply for regrading and you are not regraded then you should be entered into the competition above it. All grading should be done at the start of the year at the same time. Draws should be done then as well. If the County did not put them in the intermediate competition they should be send into the Junior competition.

It sound a bit of a farce to me.

yes they applied, then a team complained about them been regraded to junior very late, then the next CCC meeting where they were to talk about it was taking place after the first round of intermediate championship but they still decide not to let them into junior. its all a joke and to have a team not allowed to compete in any championship is just 100 million% wrong. of course nothing will be done about it and u wont here about it on radio kerry or in the kerryman or the kerrys eye

Churchill have won Division Five with a 100% record after defeating Valentia in the league final by 4-11 to 3-10. No-one has yet been promoted from Divisions Three or Four due to back games, though Annascaul and Gneeveguilla both only need a point to do so. Stacks have been promoted from Division Two, and are definitely in the final after beating Na Gaeil, with the latter, Kilcummin and Desmonds all still in the mix. Crokes are also in the Division One final, and while Rahillys are favourites to join them, Spa, Templenoe and Gaeltacht remain in the hunt.

Gneeveguilla are promoted from division 4 after drawing with Skellig Rangers today. Great to bounce back up straight away after relegation last year.

I'm pretty sure Mitchels are relegated to Div 2 after the weekend's games. Disappointing.

Brendans look to have a decent chance of reaching the last eight, with all of the clubs in reasonable form, while Mid Kerry vs Gaeltacht looks the tie of the round.

Is this the third year in a row the Brendan's have had to play the prelim round?

Was reading today online that the County Board officers legged it after the draw for the football county championship was made, none of them stayed for the county hurling championship semi final draw that was made as well yesterday evening,

    The semi final draw is

    Causeway V Lixnaw

    Ballyduff V Kilmoyley

Yes, they played and beat Shannon Rangers the last two seasons, so can hardly still be one of the two worst districts!

Exactly and with a host of players now that wear the green and gold at different levels they should you think have done enough to be put into the first round proper

Shannon Rangers getting to the semi-final in 2014 gave them a better record over the 5 years
