iOS11 and call blocking

I have just updated my iPhone to iOS11 and am disappointed that it does not allow me to block calls from “no caller id” numbers.

Even basic Androids have this facility.

    Any ideas please ?

I am only now downloading iOS11.

However, I have managed to block No Caller ID calls. What to do:

    1) Open phone book and click to add new contact.
    2) Enter First name as No Caller ID (case sensitive).
    3) Enter phone number as 0000000000 (Ten Zeros) and save contact.
    4) Go into the contact and scroll down to select the block caller option.

    Job Done

I tried to call myself from my landline and entered prefix #31# to hide the number and the call failed to go through, so it seems like it worked.

    Thanks
This is (or was) the biggest iOS weakness for me. Vodafone and other providers couldn’t help and were unwilling to do it at their end.

    Doesn’t work for me either.

    Will anything block these calls?

The red button works for me.

The red button works for me.

    Late at night?
Or while driving using hands free on auto-answer?

Some weeks I am on call 24/7. Former clients and clients with overdue accounts don’t get this service.

One of them has copped that “no caller id” numbers cannot be barred on an iPhone.

Is the only solution to switch to Android?

you can block all numbers not in your contact list by doing this:
    go to settings.
    open "Do Not Disturb"
    slide on "Manual"
    tap on "Allow Calls From"
    Select "All Contacts"

    Not feasible.
Some phone from direct lines like fax lines when the main switch is closed.
I can then name and save that number.

    At 3 or 4am?
Better to be able to block them.

Vodafone refuse to help by blocking such calls at their end.

Apple don’t give a damn. I first asked them SIX years ago.

I will change to Android if I have to.

One thing that really annoys me about IOS, well 3 things, first is that Apple will not allow me listen to browser Audio with the screen off.

2, Can't download anything larger than 150 MB for instance, apps or IOS updates.

3, Photos and Movies will not upload without WiFi.

Some people reckon 2 and 3 is a result of Apple doing deals with carriers to limit data usage on the networks !

What do you do if you have no fixed line internet or WiFi ? you're screwed.

Yet you can stream 1080 P video all day and night, makes 0 sense.

You can upload photos over phone data

In Recent Calls click on the “no caller id”,call, click options, then “Block this Caller”

This option is not available on the iPhone “no caller id” calls, only on displayed numbers.

It’s a simple basic phone function even on €40 Chinese Androids.

    Why isn’t it on €1,000 iPhones ?

Do I use a cheap Android that functions as a phone for work?
Or a fancy looking iPhone with poor functionality as a phone? And I won’t mention battery life for now.

Back to basics- a working phone is more important than the pose factor.

It’s not a priority for their customers???

Using the iPhone as a phone isn’t Apples priority either
