Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd prefer the George Carlin option.

Wall off both towns and leave a little gap in the wall with a gate that opens for 30 seconds every month that allows people from either side to enter.

Put the whole thing on TV and make it the new hot reality show.

"From the Left to the Right"

I would totally watch that on the condition that Una Mullay was mayor of Leftytown and George Hook was mayor of Rightytown! That would be damn entertaining right up until the public executions started, but sure I suppose we could hold a dial in vote on them...

Unfortunately, rightey Ville is slowly leading us all into uncertainty and probable danger which could end our species ability to survive here, naturally I'm gonna say that being a lefty

Righty ville also has you living in a country where people aren't hunting down dogs for dinner in (insert failed-socialist-state-of-the-week here)

'Is there an option for socially left, economically/justice right?'

this is what we currently have!

I'm sure everyone would want to live in Freetown the capital of lefty ville where you get everything for nothing. Unfortunately though that place is on its uppers and the poor gob****es in Shaftland the capital of Worker Land are being taxed through the nose to keep Freetown going.
Now... where do the political parties live...most of them in la la land thinking the above situation is equitable, acceptable and realistic long term.....

We like to think we are but we really aren't, in reality we are all over the map as politicians try to please everyone just to get elected/relected and end up failing everyone, we are probably to the right overall if anything even on social issues.

Personally I have views that range all over the political map so would consider myself centrist with a slight lean to the right.

Ideologies are bad. Evidence based solutions are good.

Probably a leftie town, I dont want to walk out onto a street full of sexually frustrated whitemen with moustaches and shotguns

Yea, I wouldn't be too keen to move to Leitrim myself either.

    Except Leitrim does not exist.

Midleton. Superb whiskey there to be enjoyed while one distances oneself from the loonies.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Debateable but some are definitely much moreso than others.

    Not really,

"right-wing" in ireland is considerable more centrist than the US for example.

Socially, we are not left enough in certain points. We still do not have abortion like most civilised nations, we have a bloody blasphemy law! Etc.
While we lead the way with gay-marriage, divorcing said marriage takes 4 years, women are a special class in the justice system that affords men almost no rights over their income / offspring.
Equality on all fronts, for both sexes is a long way off.
Economically, we are riven with a over-large public sector, unions and strikes are rife (though not as bad as france thankfully), there exists a welfare state that makes it possible to never work and live comfortably, etc.

Left and right in Ireland needs to take a big step in their respective directions for me to be happy with it.

    Wait.

I absolutely would live in Righty Ville

We all know left handed people are the spawn of satan, so I don't like the thought of Lefite Town.
