I have been into so many of my local high street shops looking for maternity wear and I am failing miserably!! Either nothing or very poor selection! Maybe im just going to the wrong branches? Most of them say oh we have maternity online but not in store. I prefer to try clothes on then and there to save the hassle of sending things back but it looks like I am going to have to go online. Anyone any success in stores? Im in the north-east direction. Thanks

For the most part, the selection is rubbish. H&M and Debenhams do maternity wear. Penneys do, although it was discontinued last year when I was pregnant I believe it is back now. I recall checking dunnes and there was none. The specialist shops like cherish me and jo jo maman are the best in my opinion

It might be worth a trip somewhere? I know some of the bigger new looks have it in store. I got a good bit from there, and also Debenhams. I got mine in cork, so I assume any of the bigger shops will have stuff.

I like the H&M jeans. Asos do a large maternity range and have free returns if it doesn't fit.

I mostly just buy looser "normal" tops and longline vest tops to wear underneath.

I loved next jeans when I was pregnant. They do a click and collect in-store so you can try them on then and there and if they don't suit you can return in-store.

Any recommendations of when and where to get good maternity bras? I was a 34 D/E before and so far I haven't had to get bras (just picked up a few extenders) but will wan to get some ready to go

There really isn't much point until a few weeks after you give birth. I bought one around this time last year and it's tiny on me now after December birth.

Well you can wear nursing bras dduring pregnancy because they're usually nonwired. I hate nursing bras so just wear maternity bras or any unwired bras and pull them down but I know that doesn't suit everyone. I got lovely lace maternity bras in pretty colours from Mothercare nearly 3 years ago that I wore all through feeding my son until this summer and still wearing them now in second pregnancy.

If you're planning to breastfeed, your bra size will vary a lot in the early days. They recommend waiting around 12 weeks to get measured! I just wore those crop top style nursing bras until then. Got measured and didn't believe her, but she was right. Pre-baby, I was - 30/32c, and now I'm a 30/32ff.

I didn't change size at all! Went to the bother of going all the way to a Mothercare an hour away with 4 week old only to be told I was the same size as always, 34dd.

H&M do some lovely "sleep" bras, like a crop top but with a v neck.

I'm still wearing those crop tops at 12 weeks. I really need to go somewhere to get fitted, im sick of the uniboob! There's only an 18mo gap between my little boys, and I never actually got proper bras last time, just wore these until he weaned.
There's nowhere local, so I'll have to trek a bit! Well over due though!

Mothercare have a bit of a bad rep for not measuring right, despite being the most obvious maternity place to go! Apparently the likes of bravissimo are a lot better.

It was either there or Debenhams and I figured Mothercare would have more nursing bra options right there. I definitely didn't change size, I knew I hadn't but went because everyone said I should/its the done thing! Never changed through the whole of pregnancy (or this one an am 32 weeks now) and while they got fuller during bf the extenders were fine, cup size needed adjusting once I had the extender for my widened ribs.

I go to M&S.They are reluctant to measure you til quite late in the pregnancy but I buy non-underwire bras in my usual places throughout and then get a few good nursing bras in M&S.I find them the most comfy.
I have bought in mothercare and found them very uncomfortable but I know plenty of people find them fine.

I've worn normal underwired bras all the way through pregnancy with my son and since I stopped breastfeeding this time. Once they fit properly they're a lot more comfortable and supportive for me given that I'm quite big on top (32HH at the moment, 20 weeks on Monday).

    I bought these bras in black and white and found them comfortable for the past 3 months but starting to use an extender on them now. They are padded but not too heavily, but enough so you don't get any nipple showing through;

I'm Dublin based so not sure if in-store clothing recommendations will help; Top Shop St Green (for jeans), H&M Dundrum (in their separate kids shop) and Liffey Valley for tops and seemfree leggings, New Look LiffeyValley/Blanchardtown for random bits. After that ASOS is your friend, free Parcel Connect returns at local Centra's etc make it very easy. I got some Mamalicious leggings (bit thicker than H&M ones) and Bump Bands, a couple of New Look dresses and ASOS own brand maternity tights 60 dernier. I'd order plenty and multiple sizes and then you can send back for free what doesn't work - I found it a nightmare trying to buy maternity gear and did a couple of hauls with a month in between while stock changed over.

I also bought 2 dresses from Seraphine online but returns to there are via normal post and will cost a fortune! And I ordered everything in size 12 and majority were way too big, though 2 were fine.

Jes that's a real big jumo catrionanic :0 must have been a pain in the ass.. I'm still wearing the underwired bras as kinda need them for support... A friend did recommend HaM alright but I cant say I would ever shop in there.. Will wait so until closer to the date to buy, thinking more the maternity bras would suit better, at least after you could wear them as just cozy bras..

I saw two on the Jo Jo Bebe site, this one http://www.jojomamanbebe.ie/jojo-lace-trim-maternity-nursing-sleep-bras-b4820.html not sure would it offer much support though and this one http://www.jojomamanbebe.ie/emmajane-lace-trim-maternity-nursing-bras-a3095.html
