Fmr. Garda Commissioner, Martin Callinan got it so wrong, he was the one that was DISGUSTING for attacking Sgt McCabe.

This is a really good interview from Mick Clifford.

A great Irish journalist which does put most of the other print journalists here out to shame.

    Whaaaaaat?

    No way!

They should call Kit Kats Marathons, so then the 2 finger ones could be Half Marathons.

Wait, surely a two finger Kit Kat should be called a F*ck off??

    Oh I love it. :D

But yeah, great name for a Kit-Kat. 1/4 marathon, 1/2 marathon etc- :p

Clare Daly comes in for a lot of stick but she deserves credit for supporting Maurice McCabe and highlight the issues within the Gardaí.

A lot of the criticism she used to get on the Vincent Browne thread, whenever she appeared on the show, was about her hair or the fact that she's not full of false bonhomie. I know someone who, as part of his job, has to deal with various north Dublin politicians on a regular basis (often in adversarial circumstances) and he says Clare Daly is by far the most reliable and straightforward to deal with.

Good Evening all, i'm watching this on delay, as i had to rewind the wacky Wexford fella as i was in fits laffing!!
I'm watching this thread, while watching Jools; so it takes the pain away somewhat. :D

Nah, i was watching it before this, but i want something nice & easy to watch later, so i'm recording Jools.

    Everyone's going to Wales :D

OK WelshMegaman, tell us the key sights, best restaurants and good pubs! :D

With the sudden price of hotels, any room WM :D
Eamon Dunphy and Ken Doherty were supposed to be on tonight, whatever happened to that?

Got stuck in a watering hole?
So basically this aisling character has aspects of every Irish woman ever

Aisling Bea is the only funny one around here!
Speed and The Commitments are on tomorrow night at this time... wasted showing them on a Sunday night.

This is sandwiched between Angeline Ball's new show, let's hope it's not a Ball's up of her last show,
    Hmmm Angela Sandwich!

What did ray read out on radio during the week, to spare us reading it out & buying the paper :(
A third of Garda stations don't even have internet access, the organisation needs a massive revamp from the top down.

Some don't have garda cars for months :o
I hope Paul Williams is watching this at home.

Sitting watching it with his security guard pressing the buttons!!

Our print/broadcast media depresses the life out of me, mainly because of the dominance of INM & Communicorp.

We need more brave journalists like Mick Clifford, well done to the Irish Examiner for supporting his efforts.

I'm not a professional broadcaster, granted, but I can't read a sentence out loud without garbling everything up.

    Drives me insane.

I'm the same. If I read out a paragraph from a newspaper to the Mrs I start stuttering and stammering. It's best hand it to her and let her read it herself.

Remember Noel Edmonds used to do this on the Big House Party but the person at home didn't know it was going to happen.

The former head of the London Metropolitan Police Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has been mentioned.I hope he gets it.

Methinks it'll be like that section of 'Don't Forget Your Toothbrush' with Chris Evans.

Find a household item, then throw it out of the window.

Speaking of Noel, I watched three minutes of his new show 'Cheap Cheap Cheap' this week. What a truly odd experience that was! I am still having nightmares.

In fairness, this is a decent enough section. It's the lighthearted Saturday night nonsense we crave. Rather this than "So tell me, how did you feel when the doctor told you you were dying from cancer and please, spare no detail."

I can never understand why people get excited by Mick Wallace's t-shirts and Clare Daly's hair. Charlie Haughey wore Charvet shirts but he needed handouts from wealthy businessmen like Ben Dunne to pay for them. There is way too much emphasis on style over substance, unfortunately.

Some people have very short memories, the bankers that almost bankrupted us wore expensive suits but they had zero morals or integrity.

Also on BBC2 this week ... there's nothing happening in Politics much either in Britain or Worldwide, so Newsnight interviewed Sparks.

You just don't get his on Primetime ... they should have Mir talking to Stiff Little Fingers about their legacy and that.
