Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Premier League officiating is nearly as bad as Gaelic football at this stage, they miss more than they get right. Can't wait for VAR, don't give a shîte how much it slows down the game.

Tbf if you had watched the Utd game it was just as bad

So, Klopp was sick of conceding goals from set peices a few days ago, this happens. Wonder how he's feeling now?

    3-3 draw.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Lets recap - Matip needlessly fouled his man picking up a yellow card and Liverpool conceded at the second time of asking. Mignolet was obviously going to reach the ball and clear it. Stupid decisions costing again.

Ah come on there was no foul there in fairness.

to be fair getting a corner against Liverpool is like getting a penalty against any other team. You have to let them take it.

I admit I felt Vardy initiated the contact /dived as well.

I'm not sure I want to watch the second half now with the inevitable Leicester equaliser and possibly winner.

Not the issue, the point is Matip gave Vardy the opportunity to fall over. He didn't need to as he could see Mignolet coming for the ball.

I was wondering where the feck two minutes came from in the first instance.

It wasn't even remotely a foul.

But Morgan can shove Firmino into touch after dragging out of him by the shirt for a few seconds and it's just "good English defending".

Glenn Hoddle shouldn't be aloud to handle sharp cutlery, never mind commentate on football.

Now while Mignolet was fouled and it should have been a free out I don't think he would have made the ball and think it was bad judgement for him to go for it too, so it was poor defending as they still should not have scored from it.

Still I'd blame the officials for that one, as it wasn't a free in the first place as Vardy dived

What foul did Matip make? Vardy kicks him and dives the other way and the ref buys it.

Then keeper is fouled and Leicester get a goal...

Vardy dived, he conned the ref.

I did watch it actually, the whole situation is a shambles, I don't remember it ever being as bad as this.

Vardy goes down because he knows Mignolet has the ball and he's not getting to it. The ref should understand that, he fcuking did when the same thing happened with Salah up the other end.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,436 ✭✭✭One_Of_Shanks

It was a dive all day long. Then probably a foul on the keeper after. Very unlucky.

He did. In the replay you see him move his left leg to the left to make contact with Matip, I think Martial won a penalty like that last year and was slated for diving.

Fowards have been buying cheap free kicks since the game was invented. That's why with Matip able to see Mig coming he could have just stood off, running in parallel rather than closing in on Vardy.

Also even with a corner for Leicester shouldn't the ref be blowing for half time when the ball went out of play? They normally do for corners.

  • Registered Users Posts: 683 ✭✭✭PhuckHugh

Very poor officiating on two occasions for the Leicester goal.. Vardy diving and then the keeper being pulled back. Poor defending thrown in also but you'd expect more from the officials there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Well they need to get on with it. Leicester were probably unlucky with the offside goal.

No they weren't in hindsight. Flag wasn't against Okazaki.

Yeah, was 100% the right call. The fact there's any confusion seems to just be because of Jim Beglin. I'm watching NBC, and they spotted Maguire straight away, with each replay just compounding their opinion.

I really dislike Lee Dixon's co-commentary, with his unending "back in my day...", but he's great for spotting all that stuff instantly. He spotted Vardy's left leg kicking out into Matip to fake contact straight away in real time too. Actually, can we just make him a ref?

Went up when Maguire headed it on, and he was off from the initial ball.

Why can't they just whack it cleanly? Skewed clearances are Liverpool stock in trade.

    Henderson practically took out Matip

Worst I've seen since the United game earlier. Seems to be a shocking officiating display every single weekend.

    Danni S coming on

Sturridge coming on is very unusual, his quality is evident but he's probably the worst player to bring on in this situation, we need another grafter.
