BTEA lump sum

hi everyone I have recently started a level 8 degree in college and have been awarded back to education , I was just wondering what I'm entitled to? I have been told and don't know how true this is that you can receive a lump sum for college supplies , such as stationary , laptop etc while your on BTEA? would love to know…
