Cork should take the point when they have a chance

    Ht Cork 0-07 v 0-07 Dublin

A real tit for tat kind of a game. Orla Finn is covering some amount of ground, hope she wont be too tired in the last 10 minutes when a free might be the difference, she's kicking very well currently.

Corks tactics are stumping Dublin at the moment, I expect it will open up a lot more in the second half.

In such a tight game, a goal will feel like a knock out punch.

    Just under 11,000 at it.

What was that red for? Must have did something the linesman saw

Congats to Tipp. That opening 10 mins killed us. I think we will get a good few seniors from this team.

Losing the final in this manner is awfully disappointing but the main thing is bringing players through to the seniors.

Cork lack a bit physically. They are undoubtedly talented hurlers and the scoreline shocked me to be honest. It was all about the start and Tipp got it spot on. Psychologically, Cork were shell shocked after that. Credit them for keeping at it and with a bit of luck they could have closed the gap to six at a crucial stage.

8 a piece and Dubs down to 14 for 10, will be important to take advantage of it.

10 v 9 to Dublin and now Meaney sees yellow for persistent fouling, both full backs gone.

Should have scored a goal, a miinute later conceded a goal.

Strange taking off Noonan when we need a goal

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,882 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

4 down 15 left and Noonan is taken off, one of our main goal threats- but only if you give her the ball which we just didnt do unfortunately.

Ciara and Doireann very quiet, usually well able score from long range, instead we are running down dead ends

5 down and down to 14

Outside of Finn only 2 points scored. Simply not good enough. Holding possession with sideways passes 40 yards from goal like we did iin the first half wont win you anything. It kept it close but that's not enough against the best team in the land.

That goal chance we narrowly missed was the turning point for me, it would have given us a great boost and the lead. Next attack was the Dublin goal and we didnt get near them after that.

A real pity as I felt the winner would win the final aswell.

League and Munster wins will have to do for this fantastic team.

Ephie after stepping down after 4 years in charge. John Cleary next I'd imagine

Cleary wouldl do a fantastic job with the ladies I think. Ephie did very well and should be happy enough with his time there.

Denis Ring blaming club games for the defeat in the Examiner today. Typical.

    Load of BS from Ring

He should never be let any Cork team again

I guarantee you he will be ratified for 2020 again. To come out with that s###e is an insult to Cork supporters.

Thankfully his term is up and the new County Board wouldn't be mad enough to give it to him again

We shall see but losing three finals in a row esp the manner of our last two defeats is not good for Rings & Co's CVs

I usually for little time for Considine but thought this article was good

The Tony Considine column: U20 loss proved that a new management approach is needed for Cork hurling teams

"The saying, ‘Fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice shame on me’, comes to mind here. That’s how Denis Ring and his management team must feel after this.

The word from Cork supporters here, and this is very big for Cork people to say for a county of such tradition, is ‘embarrassing’.

It’s not often you hear a Cork person saying that, but a lot of them said it after this.

Denis Ring and his management team have to take a lot of the blame here. Denis is with this group of players now for a few years and he has not delivered. Losing an All-Ireland minor, losing an U21 and now an U20.

This team were not ready for battle when the ball was thrown in, the exact same as last year only this year it was twice as bad. Tipperary had scored four goals after seven and a half minutes, without a tackle or a Cork player laying a hand.

Now, the first 10 minutes of any game are crucial, you may not win it, but you definitely should not lose it, and that is exactly what happened here."

Good luck to the Minors today!

This will actually be Corks 20th All Ireland Minor football final. We have won 10 and lost 9 so far.
Unfortunately we have lost 3 to Galway in 1960,1976 and 1986. We have yet to beat them in a final so maybe today is the day!!

    Come on Cork!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,145 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    Best of luck today Boys.

Been terrific to watch since unlucky defeat in Munster Final but the attacking free flowing football against Monaghan and Mayo was great to see and hopefully more of that today.

Will be tough as this Galway side look very good too. Could be great game.

Galway far more econimical, making every chance count.

Cork forwards very poor. Aren’t even doing the basics right. Lots of lazy runners out there too.
