Hope they make a decision early on Cork game going ahead or not, it’s over 3 hours for me to Mullingar so will be hitting the road early but pointless if it won’t be played

Law of averages says you will be at least half way there before a decision is made.
It will be a bad day for travelling anyway, stay in front of the fire.

Westmeath 0-5 Cork 0-8 HT. Cork lead 0-7 to 0-1 after 20 min but have gone right out of the game since.

Pat Horgan goal from a penalty, 1-8 to 0-5

edit: Westmeath reply with a goal, a 65 dropping all the way to the net. 1-8 to 1-6

    Cork 3-12 Westmeath 1-14 FT

Horgan with 2-8. He is utterly invaluable to Cork.

Just from following the scores online, we seem to have the same old problem of when teams get us in a dogfight we have problems. Just stick with us until near the end and we have all sorts of trouble.

Now I was not at the game and maybe the conditions were a big factor, but it seems we relied on a lucky Bill Cooper goal to get over the line.

It just feels like the same patterns as the last few years. It feels like we are close but never at the top.

Hopefully I am just being harsh as we did win today thankfully but no disrespect to Westmeath but we should be further ahead in these games. Maybe someone who was at this game will give us a report later

Nice to win, should be winning by more, but given the weather, it's probably best to forget about the game already. Take the win and move on.

I see Cork will wear black jerseys commemorating Mac Curtain and McSwiney in the games v Limerick and Derry.

    Well done to Cork.

Tipp and Dublin are planning a series of events to commemorate Bloody Sunday culminating in senior football challenge as part of event in Croke Park in November. Some Tipp supporters are petitioning county board for Tipp to wear the Grangemockler jersey the team wore on that day.

Where does it all stop. I think it's a terrible idea to commemorate. The Kilmichael ambush is on the back and that was a piece of carnage that is still fought over by historians today. Theres Protestants in west Cork with a completely different set of memories and beliefs to the Republican ones. Are we going to commemorate their missing family members from 1920to23

Charlie Flanagan shall not be pleased!

What if the Northern teams start commemorating bombers who's victims are still alive and maimed..?

Good game of hurling. Could have sneaked it near the end. Yet again, Hoggie was the scorer in chief, placed balls obviously, from play, we really need more scorers. Clean sheet in goal was nice to have.
