Hard to be too critical given its 2 weeks to Christmas but that was fair poor.

I'm expecting a different situation with the U20 later though. They have some fine players.

That's shocking. Big big problems ahead if the U20s don't win today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,157 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    That's just dreadful.

Cork has traditionally always been a county that prides itself in bringing through winners from underage and until that charges and can see Senior team keeping the long famine going.

2 soft goals just before half time

    Soft...???
Were we watching the same game?
Thought both were very well finished.
The savage workrate of Limerick earned the goals if anything.
The shoulder for the first showed that.

Well they were soft in the sense they should have been stopped. We are looking at it from a Cork point of view and they were very much giveaways.

From Limerick point of view they were brilliantly taken and really powered their way through.

We can only worry about our own play and we should be taking him down and taking a yellow and a point from a free. I think we were a point up at the time of their first goal so if he was taken down it would have been a draw rather than 2 down. Then to compound the problem straight away we allow a very easy second goal and now there is daylight right before half time.

The senior team has the same issue. A load of good work undone by being too nice. They just needed to simply not be allowed in on goal that easy. I'm not advocating injuring guys but just take them down and take a yellow and just a point from a free. It is done to us all the time so we need to learn it.

Cork hurling is a shambles. Pityful at this moment in time. Expect the u20s to be whipped now too.

You remind me of a guy when I used to play that said I was useless all the time. Then when we won a cup and I scored a lot told everyone that he always believed in me. Trying to claim the credit. There is one at every club.

    Don't expect too much

Good start from Cork. Really getting stuck in but a few wides though and only one up

You remind me of a guy that thinks Cork hurling is in a good place right now.

Only 8 mins gone. Keep a lid on it for now.

Barrett with a brilliant finish, 1-4 to 0-3 after 20min

Cork playing ok. Up by 6 at ht but they are better than that I think, 8 wides

If they push on, they should win comfortably, some nice hurlers on that team.

Poor game. Both teams hitting silly wides. Hard to see many of these players making the senior grade

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,549 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Lot of wides from both teams. Cork are really hassling every limerick player with the ball and I was happy to see in this game when a limerick player got a bit ways through to goal he was fouled and only a point given up rather than a goal.

The Cork goal was great teamplay and very slick. I think we can even go up another gear as in there is more to get out of this team.

If you are basing your opinion on 30 mins in December having not played in a month or two, then you are correct.

I've seen them over the past few years in underage tournaments and in club games.

Some of them will play senior for Cork for sure.

4 points in 4 minutes for Limerick, Cork need to wake up a bit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,122 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Still the goal ahead at the water break

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,549 ✭✭✭The White Feather

A few soft frees for Limerick bringing them back into it. Only a point up now

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,122 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Half forwards really struggling to win our puck outs, ball coming back too easily

    Ref is giving them everything

Free after free and we are getting nothing from him. Even blew us for steps when we got a point. Infuriating

    Drawn game.
Plenty of bad wides but we didn't click throughout the game. Disappointing not to win

    Extra time?

Not sure why I thought the game was on in Thurles. I despise the Gaelic Grounds- nothing but bad memories from games there.

Another ridiculous free against Cork there

Being done by the ref here lads

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,469 ✭✭✭robbiezero

That ref is ridin ye raw. Jaysis poor number 20, two over-carries given against him just there and in last few mins of the game. Both very very harsh.

2 sideline cuts in 2 minutes great skill to have!
