Two great scores there from sidelines. Massive scores at this stage.

We will lose this game as well. When is the last time any Cork team has won a tight game?

6 points up at ht and we are looking much better.

Daire Connery is having a very fine game, another great prospect.

Daire Connery with a huge point before the break. He has been outstanding. Really stood up as a leader. Just need to see this out now

A great 10 mins there. Well done boys. Absolutely ridden by the ref the last 5 mins of normal time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,422 ✭✭✭robbiezero

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,422 ✭✭✭robbiezero

Ye've a fine team there. Cork competing well at this grade the last few years, I think ye will be strong again in 3-4 years

Bloody time we won a tight game. We have had nothing for years.

It really shows Hurling is a panel game. You need guys to come on and make a difference. They looked hungry when they came on to prove themselves. Thank god the ref didn't ruin it for us even though he did his best.

The biggest thing is the battling spirit that we had. No limerick guy got anything easy and we wore them down.

Lot of wides so we can improve on that too.

Great win in fairness. Very impressive in.ET, but we could easily lost that in normal time which would have been tragedy.

    Just avoid Tipp now

Half the team were from the U17 All Ireland winning team from 3 years ago, so I expected them to perform.
We were by the far the better team in ET but we should gave won it in normal time.
Thought the ref might have needed a saddle, he was riding us hard throughout.

We've a few nice hurlers from this squad that will play for the Seniors, no doubt.
Especially as we are not going to see the best from them on a soft pitch in December.
Good to win all the same.

Loved the way he doubled a ball clear without taking it into his hand. Old time hurling.

Well if Waterford beat them then we can avoid them in the final!

Cork actually scored more in extra time than they did in normal time! We scored 1-15 in the extra time and only 1-14 in the normal time.

Subs definitely have scores in them!

Tipp won’t be beaten by Waterford in u20. Very unlikely

Great performance yesterday. The fierce tackling by our forwards was not seen in any blood and bandages in a long long time. Was up there with Niall Mc, Timmy mc and Brian Corcoran for tackling. Management 9 out of 10. The odd short passing out of the back nearly killed us on occasion but it was a mixture of tippy tappy and fast good ball into the forwards. The big difference in the forwards was we had ball winners. Even jack c one his fair share. Unlike a lot of cork teams lately who need the perfect pass and have to kill themselves to get a yard of space this group seemed well able to compete in the air and physically for 50/50 balls. I have been saying it for years. This is our problem in Cork. Forwards not making it hard for opposition and unable to win there own balls. We have been over complicating hurling for a decade. 10 passes to get to forwards who are crowded out of it. I would guess we win 25% if balls this way and that is killing ourselves and getting turned over so many other times in dangerous parts of the field. I’m also guessing but would think we hand over easily 6 or 7 handy points from passing it around at the back. Oppositions know what we are doing and it’s so easy to set up against. Traditional hurling wins all Ireland’s. Look at Waterford. What a difference management make. Lads on the field who can win there own ball. Get it up the field with.

On a side note I thought limerick were filthy yesterday ever tackling or challenge there was a sneaky elbow or shoulder. We need a bit of this as well. We need to be able to stand up. Teams have no fear of playing us at any grade.

The backs were like a savage pack of dogs. Only for a few very soft frees limerick scored very little. The blocking and hooking yesterday was outstanding. This is the third under 20 team in a row that are challenging. The future is not as bleak as it looks. The two previous under 20’s were just beaten by traditional hurling management. We had much the beater teams just beaten on the sideline in both finals. Well last year beaten out the gate on the sideline.

I hope KK and co are brave enough to change things up and give youth a chance. We have the makings of a 25 man senior squad that can fight like dogs and keep it simple win your own ball and move it on fast.

Yesterday was the first game in awhile I was fist pumping.

If Cork want to be the best. We must beat the best simple as.

No point in that game going ahead so.

Looks like a much tougher hardier bunch this cork team so if we beat waterford, it will be a 50/50 game.

Are they good enough to win All Ireland or are we going to be waiting 23 years for u21 title? Or if some of these lads step into senior are they the real deal to make Cork a dreaded county they once used to be in hurling again? Time will tell but time waits for no one. 16 years and counting for senior title. Soon to become 20, 25 and 30 years if something isnt done soon.
