It was a penalty. I actually think the keeper was at fault. She had her turned away from goal and two players came in behind to protect the goal line. No need to wrap her hands around her.

Ah lads it was a clear penalty, 2 arms around her waist like

I can see why it was given but it was the Dublin girl who fell down and dragged the keeper with her

If that happened out the field it would not even be up for discussion.
It shifted the momentum totally took wind out of corks sails, and then they tired when Dublin pulled ahead. Good match though

They gave it their all. Second half they simply weren't good enough. A real pity, but such is life.

    Why was that?

I think they were good enough. It's their shooting that really lost them the game.

Nice speech by Sinéad, deserved award for her.

I think you're right but the S&C of Dublin told in the end. Just brutally strong.

Two points in the second half. I think Cork kicked 4/5 wide or dropped short from scorable positions at the same time.

They weren't good enough to stay with Dublin in the second half.
They raised their game. They closed us down and we couldn't live with it.

Still think not having Finn taking all the frees was a bad decision, especially in such a tight game.

Ya I don’t think it was a penalty technically but understand why it was given and am not complaining about it, I don’t think the ref was at all biased but was inconsistent, I never felt watching the game what was and what wasn’t going to be a free or not. But ultimately it was a good game, both teams moved the ball well but Dublin’s shooting was that much better.

Peno all day. You can't win finals with scoring just 2 pts in 2nd half

Yep. Like when playing the Dubs men, you need to keep the scoreboard ticking, because they will.
Hard to luck to Cork, they worked incredibly hard. It takes some concentration and tackling and just dogged hard work to keep that team to 1-10 as they have attacking threats from everywhere.

Cork nearly put a few goals past Dublin in the first half and if they had they would have been out of sight, unlucky not to score one or two more.
Erica O'Shea from Macroom studying for her LC gave a great performance at wing back. Great to cover ground will be come a great midfielder IWT.

Erica was outstanding. We left a few scores behind us in the first half but so did they. We seemed to expel most of our energy in the first half also.

Don't expect it and you might be onto a winner.

I get that you're a long time Cork fan, and majorly pi$$ed off at our lack of winning, just like I am, but all you contribute lately is the usual predictable negative remarks which don't add much if anything to a discussion.

Let's all get behind the U20's tonight, they are the future.

Worst possible conditions for hurling today- cold, wet & windy. I feel for the young lads going out to play in that. Hopefully the wind will die down somewhat.

Best of luck to the Hurlers tonight. We owe Tipp one

The wind alright is probably the biggest factor now that could spoil it. Unbelievable to be even hurling on 23rd December

Lucky to get away with saving that shot on goal there

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,886 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Ref gives advantage to Tip, shot at goal, saved, brings it back for the free. Cork through on goal, blows it up for the free.
    So annoying.

O'Brien doing well at 12. Catching puckouts and well able to put the ball over the bar, big sized fella too.

    3 points in 2 minutes sees us 8 v 4 ahead after 22.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,549 ✭✭✭The White Feather

So annoying from the ref there. Should have been a Cork free but he gives it to Tipp. As well as that advantage earlier

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,886 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Not too impressed with the ref atm.

Ref should throw on a Tipp jersey at this stage. Cork the better team and the Ref keeping Tipp in it with the frees
