Camogie league final v Kilkenny in Nowlan Park before the Tip v KK final next Sunday.

    Should be 2 good games.

Camogie final v kk on tg4 at 1.30

10 gone and the girls are 0-01 v 0-08 down.
Haven't got going at all, they look so slow while kk look on their tiptoes everywhere. I know they are missing a fair few but they really need to get going quickly.

second to every ball, cant win any 50/50 ball.

Pity we didn't keep the keeper who played in the league in goal. Her puckouts and distribution in the first 20 is nothing short of brutal. She clearly hasn't her eye in, still looks injured and should be dragged sooner rather than later. 11 v 2 down after 20.

Cork 1-9 Kilkenny 0-15, 50 min. much better 2nd half but have missed some good chances including a 1 on 1 with the kk keeper and kicked it wide

ffs Aoife, red card all day. high around the neck

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,023 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Disappointing. The red card changed the game. We got back into it well and could gave won it on another day.
But to play like that in the first 20 mins and only lose by a point must be very frustrating.

Surprising win for Nicks in the SFC over Kiskeam. Supposedly they've quite a young team out too. Kiskeam are well drilled and tough to beat so fair dues.

Bishopstown got one over Douglas who've been going badly this year, Cadogen off early with a hamstring injury along with Powter and other missing inter county players didn't help them.

Valley Rovers with a good win over Mallow to introduce them to Senior football

Newmarket taken to ET by Na Piarsaigh was a surprise but came through thereafter.

St. Michaels with a 1 point win over Macroom

Lots of games cancelled too due to the rain that fell over the weekend

    Cork 2-13 Waterford 0-3 HT

To be expected, but at the same time, a win is a win and they will surely do that.

A result like this is a sad reflection on the GAA as a sporting body.
Not like it's a new thing either so nothing will be done.
These people who sit at the top table in Croke Park are totally insensitive to what's going on around them.
The hurt and humiliation inflicted on these nice young boys from Waterford will quickly be buried in the history
of an association that claims to be good for the communities it represents.
Can't blame the Cork boys as they just played a game and did their best, but it should be obvious to the suits
that Waterford minors are not in the top league.
    Sickening stuff.

Lots of games on during the weekend in the football

    SFC:
Valley beat Newcestown, Ballincollig beat Ilen & Carbery beat Clon yesterday, Rossa beat Aghada, Haven beat Dohenys and Nemo beat Clyda so no surprises there

    PIFC:
Nemo beat Kanturk which is surprising given they were on the rise, should be relatively fit from the All Ireland run I'd have thought. Fermoy beat Bantry well, Eire Og beat Ballingeary by a goal - still reckon Ballingeary will be strong, Bandon beat Naomh Aban & Vincents beat Castletownbere by two points.

    IFC:
Good wins for Mitchelstown and Cill na Martra which you'd expect, massive win for Knocknagree over Rockchapel on their first game up. Glanworth lost to Grenagh which is a bit of a surprise tbh

Glanworth didn't score in the 2nd half of their game which gives an idea of the conditions involved.
Mitchelstown-Kinsale was refereed by Cathal McAllister. He was woeful for both sides, almost boiled over on several occasions . He's brutal at small ball but even worse at the big ball.
Good result for Knocknagree, you don't win an AI without being a good team tbf.

    Jésus

True, Rockchapel would consider themselves one of the contenders all the same so a good scalp by them, will do them the world of good.

Knocknagree played very good attacking football, were a lot fitter than Rockchapel , strange thing is, both winner and loser go straight to Round 3 so it was a meaningless match.
