According to Derek McGrath Waterford are the team to beat, and whoever beats them will win the all Ireland. Hmm i don't know about that. Limerick are still the team to beat for me, and if Cork get the tactics right and sort out the problems in defence, then we could have a say in things yet. The league is the league, but the championship is the championship! Perhaps going into the championship written off by all and sundry, won't be such a bad thing at all.

No one with a hurling brain in Waterford is thinking like that.. Any of the teams in Munster can beat one another on any given day.

I have no issues with Dereks opinion at all, it was a great win for Waterford, and Derek can say whatever he likes. To the victor goes the spoils. Waterford had poor championships in 2018 and 2019, but they seem to be back as major players again. Liam Cahill has done a great job so far.

If this is the case how come Limerick have been so dominant in the last couple of years? According to this logic every game is a lottery.

  • Registered Users Posts: 888 ✭✭✭skaface

Tipp were 10 pts up in the munster final last year and would have more than likely beaten Limerick if the referee hadn't sent off Gillane for striking the Tipp player.. There wasn't a lot between any of the others in the last few years.. On any given day they will all fancy their chances

A lottery would imply every game is a 50/50, which clearly is not the case. 'Any given day' to me suggests the favourites are no more than 70% -ish to win in Munster. It's not like a KK v Laois in Leinster scenario.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,051 ✭✭✭Rosita

Never realised a lottery was a 50-50 shot. But I wouldn't consider a team having a 70% chance of winning compatible with a claim on any given day any team could beat any other. I think it was what it was, the kind of throwaway remark that was made to dampen enthusiasm. Privately the stronger teams and their supporters will think differently.

People only look at the last game! Get Loughnane for example praises Limerick to the rafters, and dismisses Cork as no hopers and bottlers. He writes in an online publication Buzz.ie. Tipperary likewise, are dismissed as old and past it! He may be right, but it smacks of jealousy, and the fact that he never won an All Ireland as a player. Cork beat Clare in successive Munster finals in 1970’s. He is a sensationalist, and makes derogatory assessments to belittle teams… his readership enjoys that! He is an online bully!

  • Registered Users Posts: 585 ✭✭✭Corcaigh84

Ringy where is this Loughnane stuff coming from, has he said something about us recently?! Post a link if so... I wouldn't worry about him or any other pundit tbh, it's all hot air.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 ringy15

Not worth your while reading GerLoughnane’s gibberish. People like him jump on bandwagon of winning teams, and trash the losing ones. He thrives on controversy so I just deleted his tripe!

Cork played Tipperary tonight in the Munster Minor Camogie Championship in Tipperary

It was Tipperary 0-08 Cork 1-05 at the end of nprmal time and Cork won in extra time

    Tipperary 0-10 Cork 2-07

Hardly derogatory and belittling when he is just speaking the truth. This present Cork team are no hopers and bottlers and Tipp are old and past it. No need to get offended by someone simply calling it as it is. Can't see either getting out of munster.

Camogie league final v Galway tonight at 7 live on RTE

People like you are a blight on GAA. Just like Loughnane who is a bitter old man, you belittle sportsmen and the counties they play for. Go get a life and sulk all your way back home!

  • Registered Users Posts: 291 ✭✭jimmythesulk

Hardly a bitter old man for telling the truth

This is a poor Cork team. Not a hope of winning anything this year. That's just the way it is and I can't see anyone paid for their opinion actually predicting Cork to go far this year.

You don't have to take it so personal. Cork will have good teams again. Just not at the moment. A bit like my own county Kilkenny.

  • Registered Users Posts: 759 ✭✭✭Rega

The no hopers line is a bit much considering they got to the all ireland and league finals.

Bottlers? Can't argue with that until they get over the line or at least perform to their ability in a final.

As for saying they won't get out of munster, while that's a possibility, I have to ask why you'd have clare ahead of them, a team that Cork have beaten in practically every championship meeting since the final in 2013?

  • Registered Users Posts: 291 ✭✭jimmythesulk

Not much between Clare and Cork to be fair. Last year's match proved that with the Patrick Collins save the only real difference between the two. Just think that if clare can get duggan and o donnell into the forwards this year they may have a small bit more than Cork. But not much in it and ultimately neither are good enough to worry the top teams. As for getting to the finals ye had to beat my own county Kilkenny in both semi finals and we are a mess at present, with our worst team in decades. Getting a lucky draw can paper over the cracks.

Strange guy who goes on a Cork board to criticize, rather than his own county, Kilkenny. I guess, Jimmy the sulk, has a particular issue with Cork. Needs pity!

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 ringy15

Go on the Kilkenny board and offer constructive criticism there, on having the worst team in decades. I am sure, Brian Cody will take note immediately. I guess constructive dialogue is outside the realm of your repertoire!

Cork 0-10 Galway 0-7 at HT. enjoyable game so far, point for point until the last 10 min or so with Cork finishing the half strongly. Cork running at Galway at every chance. Half backs playing alot of ball

Watching the camogie and its great to see the bit more physicality allowed for the women.

It is a really good game. Galway looked like they were really strong at first but Cork have grown into the game and pulled a bit ahead. Aisling Thompson is great to watch but she is on a yellow too. Healy went off with what looks like a hamstring injury. Very enjoyable game to watch. A ding dong battle

    Cork 0-10 Galway 0-7 HT

Not surprised these 2 teams are giving us a good game. We've grown into the game well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Great passing move finished by Amy O'Connor just after HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Galway pressure draws them level, 1-10 each. Cork haven't scored in the 10 min since their goal after HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Cork gone completely off the ball at the moment.

Great goal for Galway and now a draw.

We need to pick it up again or we could easily lose.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,121 ✭✭✭zetecescort

2nd Galway goal puts them 3 up with 10 min to go

edit: Cork with a chance to reply instantly go inches wide

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Another great goal for Galway. Thompson got whacked as she passed the ball and then lashed out. Lucky to be still on. Even though she was fouled first.

Galway on top but there was a soft free for Galway for over carrying when Cork were on top before the second goal. Killed our momentum

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Lot of bad wides now for Cork

goal and a point since half time is a poor return. Galway have a lot stronger bench. disappointing loss but young players gaining experience
