I was sceptical about John Meylers appointment. But unbeaten in the championship, and in a munster final. You can't argue with that. With regards to the all Ireland, i would worry that Galway would have a bit too much strength and physicality for us, but other than that, there's no team out there that i would fear.So far it's been a pretty alright summer for Cork.Hopefully we won't allow Kerry win 7 munster titles in a row next Saturday night! But Kerry are a pale shadow of the side they once were.So hopefully we might surprise a few people.:)

We're only going for 6 Munster titles in a row anyway.

Its either Gaelic Grounds or Thurles. Thurles is expected.

Thurles is always better I'd say

It has to be Thurles, one has a capacity of 48k, the other is 50+k. The GAA like money, saying 30 quid a ticket that is a 60k difference. I see only one winner.

I appear to have touched a nerve. I like to read through all the threads for the various counties, I don't post in most of them as I don't feel that I can contribute sometimes without knowing the local scene etc. I simply read your post and corrected a mistake - apologies if that came off badly. The post was not intended to be snide, I was merely pointing out that Kerry aren't going for that many.

I'm far from a begrudger, I shout for Cork frequently and love to see them do well. I hope that the Munster final is a good game (I want Kerry to win obviously) and no matter the result I hope that both teams make their way to the Super 8.

I think a big lesson of today is if the opposition go down to 14 or play a sweeper, we have to get Conor O'Sullivan on go act as the spare man at the back. The substitution turned the game for us. He set up 4 or 5 points and stopped a goal. It also leaves Coleman in his best position.

Congrats on the win yesterday folks, a strange Munster Championship match and some of the mistakes on both sides were understandable perhaps. The period just after half time set it up for ye. Got to say that the Cork fans around me were great and to a man applauded The Brick off the field. Nice touch. Best of luck in the rest of the summer.

There is something nice about Cork coming in under the radar here, everyone this morning is talking about Clare or Limerick’s collapse and very very little about Cork.

At very least it’s Quarter Final now and if we can beat Clare another All Ireland Semi.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,845 ✭✭✭Hidalgo

Yes it shows great resilience.I'm delighted that no one is talking about us. All the talk is about Limerick/Galway up to now and hopefully it will continue about Clare to the Munster Final.

Maybe its just me but I think we are slowly getting better every time. Haven't seen the game today but the highlights will be interesting to analyse.

We aren't the finished article at all but being unbeaten is very good and not losing is a habit.

Both Cork and Clare seem to be improving week on week, should make for a good final that way with both sides gaining momentum

A lot of my neighbours and all my in laws are Limerick supporters, they are in foul form today. Are limerick that bad, I would have thought this team g ad a lot going for them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 580 ✭✭✭puzl

The limerick people I know are still somewhat hopeful, but definitely feeling down after yesterday. I guess they were starting to believe the hype about this team. Personally, I still think both Cork and Limerick would be more likely to topple Galway.

Limerick won't be toppling much unless they sort out their discipline and start taking the scores they're currently leaving behind them in games - easy frees missed yesterday again at this level isn't good enough.

The same could be said of Cork who are a very pale shadow of a team who always put it up to Kerry..

Cork will be favourites here and they have more firepower up front. Harnedy is the one of which anyball could stick forward Cork can't do without. Clare have Conlon in this role . Clare were very wasteful the first day and need to read dress this to beat the rebels.

I was thinking the same thing. Is this match on tg4 as well?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,122 ✭✭✭zetecescort

    Looks a very good team.

does O'Mahoney play as a back or forward for Newtown? a bit unusual to have senior management think he's a centreback all spring and u21 management pick him full forward

hopefully we get a good run in this competition, been awhile since we strung a few wins together. good to see Robbie O'Flynn back fit too

Great to see O'Flynn back. O'Mahony was playing centre forward for Newtown in championship I think!

Have to presume Kerrigan or one of the Hurleys will start or else Luke Connolly will have a lonely day by himself in the full forward line.

Has Brian Hurley recovered well enough to play at Munster final pace?
