Cork 0-23 Waterford 1-17 FT. new structure to this for this year, I think we a guaranteed an All Ireland semifinal now regardless of how the Munster final goes

Most enjoyable game. Dalton has a beautiful smack off a dead ball.

With the team picked to start v Kerry it looks like a 14 defenders with Connell up front to score.

  • Registered Users Posts: 96 ✭✭pakie ed

    Sorry that should be Connolly.

I think we could rattle Kerry.

I'd feel a lot more confident of O'Neill was fully fit. Not sure where enough scores are going to come from, and it's gonna be a huge test for the likes of Sam Ryan and Kevin Flahive against that Kerry forward line.

I don't. I am strangely confident of a defeat, by at least 6 or 7 points. Kerry are far superior at the moment and I cant see us getting near them. The only thing is if it is a really hot night, their running game might not be in full flow.
Possession from both kickouts will be key and I feel this is what will catch us. Given the possession I think they will have, I fear it could be a long evening.

There's very little that points to a Cork victory. Best we can realistically hope for is to be competitive throughout, which, going by our league campaign where we often went 15-20 minutes without scoring, is a tall order.

    Kerry by 6+ for me.

A good performance and get a good run in the qualifiers. Building a team for the future is the best we can look forward to. Kerry are very far ahead of us.

Anyone know why Evan Sheehan or Brian Turnbull were not with the U21s the other night? Was it just they have the leaving cert at the moment? Just wondering

As for the football this weekend, I have been burned so many times recently where I think we have turned the corner only to end up seeing us get hammered. The most annoying thing is when its 5-10 mins gone and Kerry are 2-3 up to no score. If we are competitive I would be at least some way happy.

At least there are some signs of hope from reading these articles here and here

They are articles where Joe Kavanagh and Billy Morgan say we have a chance. Of course they are going to say that but it gives me hope!!

We need to produce on the big occasion.

    Busy weekend ahead for Cork.......

Good luck to the U20 Football team in the Munster Championship Semi-Final tonight against Clare.

Cork Ladies footballers play Kerry tomorrow at 2 out in CIT in the Munster Senior Final so hopefully they can get back the crown.

Then Cork Camogie play Dublin in Páirc Uí Rinn on Sunday at 2.30 in the Championship.

Of course then there is some match tomorrow night against Kerry that is live on TG4!!

Munster U20 Football Championship Semi-Final Result

    Cork 1-16 Clare 0-15

Very sad to see Waterford get hammered by Kerry in the other Semi. They only scored 1 point. The poor lads :( Kerry 3-22 Waterford 0-1

Met kerry supporters last night had to listen to the usual soft talk that they were worried about cork, they really are coming to see our new Stadium and give us a good lesson. They see cork as a speed bump on the road to the super 8s. Ronan Mc Carty was playing in 99 when Cork beat a Red Hot favourite Kerry team it would be nice to see that this evening.

Great win for the ladies on a scoreline of 5-13 v 2-10

At least we beat Kerry once today!

Ref is already doing us no favours today. 3 fouls on Cork players so far, nothing given and then a foul on a Kerry player leads to a Cork black card

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,886 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Poor decision for the black card. Kerryman Clearly charging, kerry free, joke.
    Kerry well on top.

It's men against boys. Cork football is embarrassing at the moment. I can see Kerry by 10 points or more

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,549 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Clear barging from a Kerry player there and he gets a free. Thats about a 5 point swing in my view.

I should have said that Kerry don't need the help but we need to get a bit of fair play too.

At least he just showed a Kerry player a black card as I type

He's at it again, another black card, not justified at all.

Again another bad ref decision costs us. A black card after we get a point and all.

We have no chance with this ref. I noticed it from the start. Mind you kerry look better but we have no chance at all without fair decisions
