Hoping for a cracker tomorrow with a cork victory but being realistic we are really up against it

Lucky to be back in it. We are leaking goals and points though. Clare well on top.

Very good ending to the first half.
    Cahalane got destroyed.
    Lehane needs to move out.
More of our foward need to get into the game and take some pressure off the defence.

Nice to beat Clare too. :)

Couldn't be prouder of that second half performance. A number of players had their best game in a Cork jersey today. Spillane dealing with Conlon in the second half was fantastic. Harnedy and Hoggie brilliant. Cadogan rallied well. Meade played perfectly in his role.

As regards the final tomorrow I think we will win quite comfortably in the end. Baffling to me how Michael Duignan tips Clare to win. We have shown some great hurling this year and people keep underestimating us.

We just need a few more players on song and we will pull away. Don't get me wrong, it won't be easy at the start but I think we will run out winners by 5 points or more.

I see a comfortable win. We will have to see.

Take out that late Clare goal that made it closer but it was as I thought. A comfortable win where I wasn't too worried at any time except in the first half where they pulled 8 points ahead. Once we got a goal back and kept in touch I knew we would pull away at the end.

Fair play to Clare though they played very well. They were at their utmost whereas we were a bit below par still. Still more to get out of us and we got the job done.

Now everyone out there, please keep underestimating us!!! :D

Delighted! Fair play - turned it around just before and after half time

Do we know if we are the saturday or sunday semifinal?

I was in the town end so will need to watch it again to get a better sense of the game, but I thought we showed great character today. We were slightly off the pace in the first half, although I thought we were a small bit unlucky at the same time. Great second half performance. Harnedy, Hoggy and Fitzgibbon unreal yet again. Getting a performance and result in the semi final is the next step this team needs to take.

Great victory. Kudos also to the Manager and backroom team. Great to be able to see and make alterations, in the heat of battle. That requires a good General.

my taughts exactly , brilliant second half but great tactical insight by myler , i seriously think ye have all the ingredients now to kick on and win the all ireland

i think seamus harnedy could head up to dublin in the morning and collect his all star for the year instead of waiting until October ;) great performance by him in particular

As i said before, i was one of those who was critical of the appointment of John Meyler, but he has delivered the Munster title, and hopefully with a bit of luck, we'll drive it on and go all the way now.As for Clare we have beaten them, in every single championship game, since that 2013 All Ireland final replay. The ongoing payback from Cork, for that defeat continues.;)

A few random thoughts before I watch again on TV tomorrow... I didn't see where we were going to get the scores from going in at HT, Clare were dominant, and the 1-1 before HT was the turning point. Couldn't believe my eyes a few mins into the second half.

Hoggie gets better with age, he is just unreal. I think he made one mistake the entire game, not picking up a ball around the goalmouth. I actually think the shortness (or lack of) grass on the pitch today made picking the ball a bit tricky.

Harnedy immense obviously, and Meade showed up big time today too. I thought Lehane had an absolute nightmare, it was like he lost all confidence. The takedown and control before hitting a wide was pure class, but the decision he made to try round his man on the sideline before getting blown out over the line was poor.

Slight negatives: some fellas like Coleman and Fitzgibbon (who are great stuff) need to get better in the tackle. We sometimes ballwatch in the rucks/scrums. I'm not the statsman but it *feels* like Cork win only about 20% of dirty ball. We also should have dragged down the Clareman for their 3rd goal, even though we were 5 up. A KK team would have.

Some of our lads need to lift the head up when bearing down on goal instead of running up blind alleys. When we did actually make the pass we scored goals!

Things got a bit heated in the first half with some Clare fans who wouldn't sit down. We were labelled 'has-beens'... the were very quiet in the second half ;) Corcaigh abu, they showed why they're Rebels today. Roll on Croker!!

Went up today as a neutral hoping for a good game. Thought Clare had Cork beat out the gate when they went 8 points up but there’s a steeliness to this Cork team. Can’t but be impressed and I’m delighted for Meyler, he’s a proper hurling man and fair play to him he got things spot on in the second half. I’d have Cork as the only team that can beat Galway now. I did think Clare were better than they were today, in the end two points probably flattered them. They went missing in the second half and their management had no answer. Meyler got things spot on and I hope the break won’t kill any momentum for you. Best of luck for the rest of the Championship, cork teams in full flow are very hard not to like and I’d love any Munster team (that isn’t Tipperary) to win the All Ireland.

    Interesting note abut today's game

Last team to go 8 games unbeaten in Munster was Clare 97-99.

Tyrone for the footballers. It's the draw that gives them a shot of a bit of redemption. Won't be holding my breath.

This happened so much this season I feel it must be a tactic. Most teams when they run into a tackle, have another player on the shoulder for a quick handpass. Cork players seem to actively run away from the tackle. All I can think of is that they're trying to spread the game. If there's 4 defenders hounding around a Corkman, and the ball gets popped 3/4 yards, chances are those same 4 defenders are going to be swarming to that player too. Maybe the thinking is by keeping people spread, that should the ball come out, there's then loads of Corkmen free elsewhere.

Hard to see us even being competitive but Tyrone's style of play might keep it close. If you have a poor defence, no kickout plan and a non functioning forward division it's hard to win any game.

I reckon Tyrone could hammer us. Yes they play defensively but they also have a very potent attack. We'll need to be at our absolute best to have any chance.

I wonder where it will be on, no Croke Park so has to be a neutral venue. Tullamore or Portlaoise maybe?

Happy with Tyrone. They are not the Tyrone of old. We should give them a game, they will not be sure how Cork will play, as neither do we.

Tyrone should beat us and they would be doing us a favour if they did I feel. We won't be going too much farther anyway if we do beat Tyrone.

It would do no harm at all to win. This team needs big games to develop, they badly need to develop an understanding of having the need for plan A and B..,etc the management need the experience too.

True. I think if Cork can give them a game even it be something going forward.
