Where was the Delanys game played ?

Sorry, thought I mentioned it, Ovens. Really good floodlights aswell, 6 by 9 light pylons , not in use in our game but I'd say they came on for the Barrs intermediates v Aghabullogue in their semi after us.

Fantastic win for the girls of Glanmire today. First time in .munsterxand they have becone Munster Junior Football champions on a whopping scoreline of 6-20 v 0-01
Fair play on the win but inter-county Junior is a silly idea. Saw it with my own club Mayfield a few years back, what's considered Junior in one county would be intermediate or senior in another.

True. It's one of the reasons why whatever team cone out of Kerry at junior football level tend to do so well, not just in Munster.

didn't happen last year. It was actually a cork team that won it out if you can remember correctly.

The Munster champions on about 12 of the previous 14 years were from Kerry.

    I do remember correctly ;)
They beat the Kerry champions AET.

In fact, I stood and watched them knock my club out of the county last year.

The 25 a ticket is too much, no doubt.
Think I'll say at home and watch the delayed showing on TG4 at 5.35

Inniscarra won their 3rd county in a row yesterday with an 11 point win.

Ladies football replay today at 4 Clouduv

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Decent turnout here. Ballincollig have had about 7 wides and should be further ahead.

    B'collig 1-7 to 7 B'rock at half time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Finished 2-16 to 1-16 to Ballincollig.

Never in doubt really they lead from the 2nd minute.

Yeah, Blackrock goal came a little too late for them.
Sun has come out today, better conditions than yesterday for the games, thank God.

Deserved win for Imokily. It's a real pity divisional teams can't represent their county as that team would really take some beating.
Spillane in the corner won nearly every ball sent his way. Cooper scored about 4 from play and played as well as I've seen him play.
Harnedy, 1-06, is just a delight to watch when he plays like that, hope that injury at the end isnt too bad. O'Sullivan showed his skill set by banging in a few goals.
For Midleton, they really needed Lehane firing on all cylinders, but he wasn't. He still played well but he had about 5 or 6 wides and didn't get the freedom he needed from the tight marking Imokily defence.

Castlehaven - Duhallow replay gone to extra time, 1-14 each at FT.

Mourneabbey won a 5th county in a row, 4-11 to 1-10. would be great to see them finally win the All Ireland

With 5 minutes left Delanys were 2 points down, when a deserved second yellow saw us go down to 14 and go 3 down from the free. 1-01 scored in injury time was the icing icing on the cake for Kilmacebea to win 1-17 v 1-10. A good game but Delanys didn't take the chances we created and thus is one that really coukd have gone the other way.
Kilmacebea are a finevfootballing team with plenty of players that can take their scores and it will take a fine team to beat them in the county final.

For Delanys, in the modern era we havent won a county football championship game until we won 2, drew 1 and lost 1 this year. It's been a good run.

    Duhallow 2-7 Castlehaven 0-7 HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,122 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Duhallow 3-13 Castlehaven 0-16 FT. Big win for Duhallow, sets up a final v St Finbarrs.

Have both the SHC and SFC ever been won by divisions in the one year?

Junior finals on Saturday, how do lads see them going? Football is Kilmacabea v Dromtarriffe, Russell Rovers v Cloughduv in the hurling. Kilmacabea probably came through the tougher side of the draw but Dromtarriffe beat Iveleary in the semi final. Hard to call.

Kilmacebea will be hard to beat. Good all round team.
The hurling is harder to call, I'd go with Cloughduv if I had to pick,

Dromtarrife are good team in Duhallow and have been knocking on the door for a while. Be some going if a second Duhallow team won the county in 2 years.

It certainly would, but I've not seen them play. I have seen their opposition and they would be worthy champions. Both teams are there on merit. Should be a cracker, hopefully the weather is good and doesn't ruin it.
