Apparently, US firearms manufacturer's stock prices have slumped since the presidential election ..............
I was watching a program about the first 100 days of President Trumps reign, and they touched on this.

Because he is seen as pro NRA, pro gun, etc, etc. people have stopped panic buying. Barry was better for the gun sale business because people were afraid he would try to ban certain types of guns, mags, etc. so they bought them almost continuously over his 8 year run.

Like most things in this country retail prices only go one way, up, even if the manufacturers and/or wholesale costs goes down :(

Seen that with most things but oe that stands out recently is the Ruger Precision rifle. When it came out first it was €1,500 and now they cannot be gotten for less than €2,200. 50% increase in just over a year.

Same with the Ruger .22 pistols, very reasonably priced in America, but they are expensive over here.

The price difference between America and here has always been a joke, but it's more about the price here from two years ago to now.

Ammo has gone up by about 15%, guns by between 10 to 50%, and all coupled with a serious inability to get gear in or get it in continuous amounts. Perhaps a relaxing of the export laws will allow more [quantity] and continuous exports which if nothing else may stabilise prices and who knows even drop them a little.

The whole Brexit thing seems to be a red herring, but it is having real world effect which until something is sorted will continue to cause us to pay more than we should be.
