    Hi all.

Anybody recommend any good strength & conditioning trainers based in around Dublin 2/Dublin 4.

Someone that focuses on functional strength and good reputation working with runners and athletics in general.

    Thanks

A bit further than area quoted but not much

I can vouch for Claire knowing her stuff as she comes from a running background. Outside of Tina McCarthy there are few others I would say are worth the price associated with S and C , specific to running

Alternatively Peter Matthews does classes which people find very beneficial

Paul Opperman knows his stuff. Former 400m runner who was in the 4x400 squad at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. He coaches Sinead Denny and Kevin Woods among others.

My tip though, is build up enough knowledge from maybe a year or so with a S&C coach. Then supplement that with lots of research online etc, and by the end of it you should have enough knowledge to design your own programmes. I did that last year and it coincided with possibly my best ever season. S&C can be very very expensive.

Dublin sports clinic is very good, i go there myself for some classes.

They start off with a foundation class in S&C Monday at 6 and Wed at 1 and 6.
    20 euro a class.

I find it hard to fit the classes in though

What would you call functional strength?
