Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd go along with the ignorant thing alright. Not ignorant in the sense a lot of people use over here (i.e. rude) but ignorant of different cultures. Many people I know would just assume all African people to be Nigerian, all Eastern Europeans to be Polish, all Asian people to be Chinese. They know next to nothing about any of those countries too. The same person saying "sure Lithuanian, Latvian what's the difference" would be the same one crying if they were called English.

After seeing someone advocate negligent genocide to deal with climate change, and others indicating that it's best that people cannot be vaccinated die out, I cannot think of anything controversial enough to say in the current climate, where the more controversial something is, the more popular it becomes. I think it's seen as somehow courageous or something, rather than cowardly and selfish.

Screw it. Plastic is good for fish.

    I dislike Michael D Higgins.

Ok, he's an intelligent lad no bones about it and he grew up in poverty, respect due there, but he spent his whole life working in public sector jobs dedicated to sponging off the taxpayer. He spent his time lecturing marxist sociology to gullible lads in NUIG when he used to teach there and all that like. Now he gets paid an exorbitant amount of money to be carted around so he can give his little pro EU, pro socialist, pro globalist speeches to gob****es at fancy arse dinner parties while never paying the price for his crap; real anti Ireland nonsense. Also, that Fidel Castro man love stuff was just outright creepy. Support a murderous dictator who screwed over the Cuban people as part of The Great Struggle against Capitalist Scum? Good man yourself Mickey!

    Also, his poetry's bum.

Most of my bosses have been women. Well capable and deserving of their success. However, I wouldn't hire a woman to work for me, if I thought she was likely to start a family.

My old boss hates employing women for that very reason. He stopped paying maternity pay and stated. "whoever thought that was a good idea"

You know in a way agnosticism is the only rationale standpoint to take.

Religious, can't prove their beliefs beyond reasonable doubt.

Atheists, can't prove their views beyond reasonable doubt.

There's a lot to be said for 'sitting on the fence' on this issue.

The GAA rode us for many a year with replays that were never replays.

They brought people up from the sticks over and over again for games that could have been sorted the first day.
The right free at the right time. Nasty crap to be at.

A half Irish half English is the solution. A sausage can be used as a breakwater between the eggs and beans. And it can served on both sides of the border, but with an Englishman coming in and pointing at you for the entire time you are eating your breakfast repeatedly saying those beans, they are not your beans, you can't eat those beans. Please stop looking at those beans. They are my beans. Gerry, will you stop trying to eat those beans.

Gender quotas for politicians are a joke. Surely if the best candidate for the job cannot be considered because they are male then that's more sexist than having a higher proportion of men than women in government

There are too many people in the world. We kill off a billion and limit each family to 1 child

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭CruelCoin

We need to stop giving foreign aid to certain African nations.

Huzzah, you stopped that child with flies in his eyes from starving to death.
Why, so that he can grow up to have 8 more starving kids with flies in their eyes?
Vast swathes of Africa are simply not fit for sustainable human habitation and should be abandoned to nature so that we can put the resources we expend for nothing bar fuzzy feewings to proper use in those parts of Africa that something can actually be made of.

People on benefits should be legally prevented from having a child until they prove they can provide a stable home.

    How would you implement that?
