We've won a trip to New Orleans in Feb of next year.
We get in on 1st Feb about 5pm and leave new Orleans at 11am the following Wed. 6 nights
Hotel paid for on a B&B basis
And we have an oak plant tour on the Sunday I think
Realistically when we get there the first day we will be shattered, having left Dublin at 7am and travelling for 15hrs (incl a stop over)
So we have Fri till Tues night really.
Im wondering how much should we budget spending wise
Won't be bringing home loads, few toys the kids want, maybe some clothes...
    Is it expensive?
Can anyone recommend a few "must do" things
We had a steam boat cruise and dinner booked, but the boat is now being docked a week longer so we will be gone home.

For a limited time there, I’d focus on just the music and food. There’s a wealth of great residencies around the town - jazz, brass bands, zydeco etc. get to Tipitinas, The Maple Leaf, Preservation Hall, Chickie Wah Wah, Snug Harbour, the Spotted Cat etc (Frenchmen street is about the best gigs street close to the French Quarter - which is, in the main, about as interesting as Temple Bar). If you’re into wine and grub - Bacchanal Wines down by the old naval docks. A top tip if you’re there on a Friday is John Besh’s August restaurant - they do a Prix Fixe lunch deal that’s well worth a reservation. Otherwise there’s ample cheap eats and po boy places to investigate. Great city.
