Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Internal door locks - installation

    Hi all,

Not sure if anyone would be able to hazard a guess at the cost to install internal door locks onto existing doors without a locking mechanism present?

The bedroom doors of a house we are looking at don't have locks at all - is there a way we can use the existing cut out for the handles to install a lock? Something like this maybe?

    Thanks

Carpenter or good handy man can do this. The lock cost about €20, then allow the same for handles, so should get away with €100/door including fitting. Before going down this route you might want to consider fire safety.

Also most bedroom doors open in and the doors aren't that strong, one good kick and the door will crack anyway. Locks only stop honest people ;)

Ha thanks for the quick reply, I think the illusion of security will be enough in our case :D
