Hi I have being working in an organisation for nearly 5 year with a permanent contract. How much notice am I required to give when leaving? Thanks

Unless your contract stipulates otherwise, the minimum is a week. However, if you are leaving your employer in the lurch by giving too little notice then that may weigh on their mind when writing a reference.

Check your contract first, then give him as much notice as you can.

You never know down the road when you will come across each other again.
