    For those of use not in the know, is there something special/unusual about VOR05?

    It's used to ensure ground tracking and ILS instrumentation are correctly calibrated, I believe. It'll have a ton of precision navigation equipment onboard so the exact path it flies can be checked against the path the ground instrumentation tracks.

    The VOR refers to the systems that it it testing, VHF Omnidirectional Ranger.
