Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have you tapped the contactless symbol when adding a card and waited for the second screen before trying?

Is that the android pay app?

I'm not seeing the contactless symbol on the version i have on my phone.

Another question, i can't seem to find anything the info i want on the revolut website. My question is to do with the free ATM withdrawals per month. I have a standard card which allows €200/£200 per month free withdrawal. Does anyone know what happens after the limit has been reached?

That's the Revolut app. You get to it via Top-up > Card > Swipe left to add a new card. Nothing to do with Android Pay, just uses NFC to fill in your card details.

Your phone may not have NFC, what model is it?

Nevermind, I read the last page.

I deleted my virtual card yesterday and I'm still not getting the option to get a free standard card either.

You pay a fee, a percentage of the withdrawal.
    2% I think it is

I deleted my previous card the other day and was able to add a new one the next day. What way are you doing it?

Just in the app. Add card. Choosing physical, then address and then I'm seeing a charge on the next screen.

But it is a great card to have when travelling highly recommend

Been using it now for 2 weeks and find it great. Twice though it wouldn't scan and was rejected I ended up paying cash and then a few days later it deducted the same amount from the card, So i had paid double. Contacted the card and they told me to contact the vendor and still.waiting for both amounts to be sorted out. Particular pain when it happens on the weekend as there is no support, not that they helped in these instances anyway.

Would you mind saying where you encountered those issues? Online or in a bricks and mortar shop?

It works fine in America I was just over there a week ago and used it when my cash ran out which I had planned to do.

It worked fine other times in those places too.
The problem was that the charge didn't appear on the card until the middle of the next night. After I had paid cash when it was rejected in the shop.

I've used it in a good few places in America and then on the airplane coming back and in Tesco a few times and a local chemist.

I haven't used it anywhere else yet as I don't have a physical card that long. I have used the digital card loads of times buying from amazon and ebay.

Usually in those cases where its rejected but the charge appears in the app, the transaction won't be confirmed and you'll automatically get the money back in about 10 days. But it will be missing from your balance for those days.

Usually with a non-prepaid credit card, the same thing would happen, but the reversal would happen before they send out your statement, so you'd never have been any the wiser. But with revolut, you're seeing the charges immediately, and it can be a bit of a fright until you get used to it..

I got a physical card a couple of years back. Would this card be any better? Or would it be the same?

The exact same except this card has wireless.

I uploaded my information for verification but after a week it was still in progress.
I contacted them via chat last night and they put it through straight-away.

Just in case anyone else is having the same issue, chat is the way to go.

Looking forward to trying the card out.

So- is the ONLY way to put funds onto this card is by transfer from a bank account???

No pre-loading it thru Retail Outlets like 3Money, etc??

    https://www.revolut.com/ie/faq#can-a-friend-make-a-transfer-to-my-revolut-account

There's at least 5 methods. Bank transfer, credit/debit card, inter-Revolut transfer, Apple Pay, Android Pay.

I am back from New York a week or two and everything worked fine thankfully when I was there.

I just seen the post where there is a issue. Not good if it was your only means of paying for an item.

Try turning location security off if it's on, it's a bollox at the best of times and worse if you're abroad and not using data roaming.

don't have revolut be the only means necessary for paying for something. what I do is I apple pay money over (it's instant) and buy it. if revolut gets decline I just make the purchase on a credit mastercard.

I know. I'm just back from New York and had cash and had planned to use the revolut card when the cash was gone which I did and it worked out perfect. But I also have a credit card and another debit card but I didn't want to use those as they charge extra so the revolut card came in handy, but yes if there was a problem with revolut like they had yesterday I would just use either of those other cards.

You have to make a purchase via chip and pin or possibly an atm withdrawal, not certain on the atm way though, before you can select contactless

I've never made a cash withdrawal and use contactless so must be another type of transaction )or any one from a number of types of transactions)

Yes, that why I said I wasn’t sure it an atm withdrawal was one of the method that was accepted as a transaction, just because you don’t have any, that doesn’t mean it isn’t. I never claimed that one needed to do a cash withdrawal.

Makes sense as the virtual card is the primary card. The physical card is just a clone of an already active card.

Quick question, Have one of these and travelling to the UK at the end of the month for a weekend. Am I better off loading this card with a couple of hundred and using over there or should I change my money into phyiscal sterling before going?

Just wondering if theres any benefit thanks.

The entire point of the card is that you get a better rate when you use it than converting say with your bank or the post office. Use the card. If you need physical sterling withdraw it at an ATM over there with Revolut and you'll still get the benefit of the card. There's a 2% charge for cash over £200 (double check my figures) but you'll still be getting a better rate than your bank will give you.

Just FYI another use for the revolut card.

I added my revolut card to paypal. Was making a sterling ebay purchase, transferred the euro equivalent to my revolut card. Exchanged it to sterling and then bought the ebay item through paypal with the revolut card.

No exchange rate except whatever revolut charge.

That’s the purpose of Revolut isn’t it ?

when you go to your profile, there is a linkt o invite friends to revolut. click on that and then you will be given a referral code. just tap on that and you can share it with whomever you wish without having to add all your contacts.

OK so installed the app and applied for an account (sent photos etc) got verified, so looks like i am good to go (their customer service is so good btw)

I needed to have funds in my account to order a card and virtual card, so got the IBAN and BIC from the revolut account I just set up and sent SEPA payment from my BOI account into my new Revolut account.

Any idea how long such transfer take?
