Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The other chances he missed in the first half were more glaring opportunities. The usual crew on here jumping up and down when he missed that 2nd half chance shows you how clueless they are.

Can you show me please how your opinion has you better qualified than others on here that has you make such a statement? Ridiculous thing to say :D

Leave it off lad you cannot deny he is piss poor the last year. Because we have a different opinion to you we are whingers???? The stats dont lie do they? He has had a shocker tonight and unfortunately it is too much of a regular thing.
I was talking about that 2nd half opportunity he missed in particular, the knee jerk reaction on here was clueless and ott. As for his overall form, and particularly his goal drought, that's a worry. It's a difficult one with one game left in the regular campaign and possibly play offs to come to drop him and give another striker a debut.

Moldova outpassing us and have us on the back foot, as if we needed more evidence that we play negative backward hoofball. We're the Stoke City of international football.

Anyone who has played the game at any level would probably understand that.

    Oh God.

No strong opinion on the Long issue, we're short on strikers. It's not like there's a superstar on the bench.

    But just, that point...

I'm talking about that particular chance in the second half. It came at him very fast and he was unlucky not to steer it in.

Probably so MON has an excuse for not playing him v Wales - "Wes can't play 2 matches in 4 days"

    Make a sub ffs!!

Wtf did MON say at half time..

    Goal for austria

McGeady on to flatter to deceive once again. Given that MON is here for the next 3 years, is he not interested in looking at new faces?

And Long stays on ????? Jesus

Ridiculous that Wes is still on the pitch. Unforgivable that Mao is letting him run around still.

To be fair we aren't doing well in midfield now so bringing on some fresh legs there makes sense

Hopefully hes resting Murphy for Cardiff because Long staying on is a stupid decision.

No problem with McGeady but christ why not ****ing give the new lads a chance
    Hes such a dinosaur
No idea why he was given a new contract

Nothing wrong with those subs. McGeady has been in good form. Maguire and Hogan aren't going to start against Wales because they get a goal in the last ten minutes against a beaten Moldova side, so it would be a waste of a sub.

Edit: Well he's bringing on Maguire. Bizarre.

Wales might fancy winning this group now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,120 ✭✭✭justshane

Honestly it's depressing that Mon has this new contact signed up before the campaign is over.

We're playing a poor team, winning 2-0 and haven't a striker that can score(Murphy obviously tonight). Bring on a new striker and see does it work with 20 left. Hogan or Maguire will prob come on in the 88th min when we're sitting in our own 6 yard box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

O'Neill loves sticking with what he knows.

Mcgeady on over hogan or maguire in this game is a septic call.

    terrible subs

    one striker up front

let's hold what we have ffs

But McGeady isn't going to start in Wales either because he gets a goal in the last 10 mins, so isn't that a wasted sub as well??

I don't think anyone would have expected Maguire or Hogan to start against Wales regardless... but tonight was an opportunity to see how well they mesh with the team coming off the bench. In case that's something we need on Monday.

<edit> thankfully Maguire has just come on.
