But my point is his scoring record is phenomenal. That supersedes criticism of his negative attributes surely?

I always accept that fans will have differing opinions but it seems to me that his impact is being downplayed since he left.

He was one of the few players we had that could turn a game through individual brilliance. On the other hand, I don't really think he improved us as a team.

Van Persie scored a massive amount of our goals in the season before he left, but we actually scored more as a team after he left. It's a team sport, and it's more about the individuals. Sanchez added goals to the team, but it came at a cost.

Do we know what his losing the ball stats were like for us?

Because to me losing the ball literally every 3 minutes in return for 1 goal every two games doesn't seem that amazing.

To put it another way, one goal for every 60 lost possessions.

He had great moments, no question about it. But the team suffered, you could see that without any stats.

That's probably why physioroom list him as an April 1st return.

There's actually been a few instances where players return before their expected dates over the last couple of seasons. I think the club are a bit more cautious when predicting the dates, compared to how they used to be.

If Osterunds can give us a game at home theres no reason why Milan cant. Though I suspect the penny has dropped for most that this is the last chance saloon so I suspect we'll not roll over in this competition now and might actually take it seriously.
