Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

UNited fan here, backed arsenal in accum. Ye are breaking my heart , so frustrating to watch . There’s time for a leveler yet

All of our remaining league games are dead rubbers, no need to be too annoyed about it.

We are 2 points ahead of Burnley hopefully 5 now, as little as we have to play for that's an absolute humiliation the club needs to avoid.

Also no European football at all next season would be a disaster and another fall backwards

I dare someone to try explain Danny Welbeck to me.

You either love him or hate him and often both at the same time at multiple stages throughout a match.

One of my favourite arsenal players. No joke.

What's happened Jack? He's been awful in the past 3 games.

Fast break and he can't find the pass, then chases the Southampton player and rips the shirt off his back :D

All that came about from Wilshere not being able to find a man on a 4 v 4.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

All that came about from Wilshere not being able to find a man on a 4 v 4.

And losing his composure with 3 mins to play and the team winning by 1. Needs to grow up sometimes.

Putting a bite in the game early is fine but in the last 3 minutes a load of pish

I dare someone to try explain Danny Welbeck to me.

Well, he was a United player, and I laughed at him because he was rubbish.

Then he became an Arsenal player and I instantly loved him, even though he was exactly the same player.

Now, he's simultaneously dreadful and a matchwinner.

TL;DR: I can't even begin to explain him.

    Text comment on BBC:

"Tom Wilkinson: If Danny Welbeck scores a hat-trick, does that count as trolling?"

A decent result considering the team we put out against a team fighting for survival. Iwobi had his best game for us in a long and overall Welbeck was great too.

Can't complain about two goals and two assists from the lads to be fair.

5th is back up for grabs!

5th is back up for grabs!

It would be the most Arsenal thing ever for us to win all our remaining games now that the pressure is off and for Spurs to completely capitulate and lose all their remaining games.

Although it would be hilarious to see us getting 4th ahead of Spurs (or even 5th and totally discounting Chelsea of course), it would be a disaster in terms of getting rid of Wenger.

Is there any difference between 5th and 6th in reality?

I hate to sound like an old codger (34 btw) but the two red cards yesterday was ridiculously harsh. I know you cant raise your hands and all that but the game is gone so soft now that its hard to watch at times. Where will it be in 10/15 years time regarding tackling and fouling...

Just that finishing ahead of Chelsea would be nice.

But, as has been said here a billion times, first matters everything else doesn't.

I just meant it in terms of "if City win the Champions League do 5th get a spot". Or does 5th miss a qualifying round of the EL or something.

I think it's a couple of qualifying rounds.

Of course, if we were to win the EL and Liverpool/City win the CL, I think Spurs miss out if they finish 4th....:pac:

I actually want to win the EL now :D

Such a shame Auba is tied for europa, mind you Lacazette is looking hungry. Mustafi is my big fear & now I'm presuming Elneny will get a 3 game ban

Nah, that only happens if the CL winners don't make it into the top four, like Chelsea finishing 6th and kicking out Spurs back in 2012.

The Europa League winners are separate.

Here's the Wiki entry. You'd need a notepad to keep track of it all.

A 3 game ban will only apply to the Premiership surely?

    Is that true?

    Oh, God, is that true??

That's would be the absolute funniest.

Edit: sh*te just saw the clarification above.

It will probably get overturned. No way that push deserved a red card. Very bad call by the referee and should absolutely be appealed.

Hope so, the official Premier League twitter account stated "Mohamed Elneny is then shown a straight red a few minutes later after raising his hands"

Apparently ref going by the letter of the law, but looked more to me like the Ref just lost the plot.

Thomas Tuchel off to PSG anyway. Was one of the favourites to take over at Arsenal.

It was reported in some of the papers yesterday that Wenger has said he's staying on next season. He has always said that anyway.
It will be rinse and repeat next season. Same 'ol, same 'ol.

Apparently there is a camera angle showing Elneny pushing his hands into the opponent's face. I haven't seen it but if true there's no point appealing

Wenger eventually has to die, it happens to all of us. I guess the fear is that he somehow outlives us all :D

Appeal successful! Didn't think it would happen with the new angle, but that's great
