To be fair a club like Arsenal is obviously going to use highly qualified medical professionals offering the highest standard of care. Santi's problems seem to stem from an infection he developed inside the leg post surgery. It shows you that these kind of things can happen to anyone. If it happened to anyone not getting the standard of treatment he has it more than likely would have resulted in amputation.

Not sure you can blame the medical team on a post operative infection. That's what has been the big c*** up with Santi. He has had weak heel and frequent injuries since before he joined the club.

I'm not defending our medical team in general, just doubt they're the cause of Santi's long term problems on this occasion. He nearly lost his leg.

For such an energiser bunny on the pitch, the static nature of his injury must be torment for him.

Like I said it seems like he's been through an absolute **** time, way beyond the typical long-term benching that happens in sport.
