Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CSKA, Celtic, Atletico, Sporting Lisbon, Spartak, Napoli, Leipzig and Dortmund all demoted to the Europa League

If we are top we'll surely avoid Atleti, Napoli and Dortmund until later stages? CSKA looked alright to be fair but the other non seeded potential opponents look piss easy

Just had a look there on wiki, only half the CL teams are seeded, based on their group stage record along with the 12 group winners. Open draw then.

Unseeded: Napoli, spartak Moscow, Celtic, Dortmund.
    + Nice from the EL

Not afraid of Dortmund or Napoli. Or Athletico.

    F*ck that, bring 'em on.

Pretty much expected lineup. The Jeff on the bench, where's he been?

I'll tune in if we reach the final.

    If.

Seems like most people who have seats at the Emirates have the same attitude.

You can almost hear individual shouts in the crowd. Its ridiculous

I'd rather watch Dundalk in this competition.

    Scutter.

Interesting that it looks like a back 4 being played tonight. Feel bad for Maitland-Niles playing at left Back though as it’s clearly not his position.

Cracking strike from Debuchy. Didn’t know he had it in him!

10 million people will claim they were there tonight when Debuchy scored a screamer :D

Must admit i have actually found the Europa league campaign enjoyable so far. It has allowed us to dip in to the reserves and youth panel and we were guaranteed six games to do that. No big deal if we went out really. It will get interesting in the new year alright but for now its great to be able to watch games where there is no real pressure on the team and see some determined kids looking to make their mark

Great ball from Jack. Welbeck is such a donkey, couldn't even get a ball near the box with the keeper out.

He's a terrible player to be fair.

How did we end up buying Welbeck? He has little to offer.

Must say, Theo looks pretty sharp tonight. Has won quite a few 50/50s through pace and determination.

And he scores. Should have been passed to earlier by Welbeck when he was wide open.

Will Welbeck get an assist for that goal? :pac:

A classic welbeck fúck up forcing the defender into to the assist

Delighted for Jack. Unlucky not to score a minute beforehand

I've always had hopes Welbeck could out a decent run of form together but I think I am officially giving up on him after that "assist" for Walcott's goal.

This is the worst team I've ever seen Arsenal play over both legs

And they were UCL not so long ago. They are out though and while their defence wasnt great, their attack troubled us in Belarus.

I know, I know, Bate Borisov are cr*p, but Jack Wilshere has been a cut above everyone else around him tonight. If Ozil does go, and we can't get quality replacements in, Jack must surely slot in there? I'd love to see him get an extended run in the PL. Him and Maitland-Niles are the 2 best players on the park.

So far Rob Holding looks assured again after his confidence denter at the start of the season. Debuchy looks very good, as does Theo. I'd imagine they are playing in the shop window mind you!

Actually really enjoying the EL. Not too bothered they are pants, 3 goals is happy days.

Wilshere excellent, I’d love to see him stay and realise his potential with us long term.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,114 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Isn't Jack also out of contract at the end of the year?

Great workrate but the 16m would have been better put toward a proper finisher. I like Danny though as a man and a footballer even in his United days. A great pro and very grounded likeable guy

He's had plenty of years to realise his potential but hasn't been able to do it.
Arsenal owe him nothing, he should be begging to stay.

I think he has something to offer. Id never question his overall application on the field to be honest. He has been very unfortunate with injuries.

Lowest crowd ever since the stadium was built tonight.

Bit like spartak, BATE couldn't give a ****e. This will at least equal the record
